♪Ruru ru, withered leaves drifting… autumn has arrived. From October 13 to October 19, 2025, 284 articles were published on 4Gamer. Incidentally, in space, the “Lemon Comet” is approaching Earth and will be at its best viewing around October 21. Named after being discovered at the Lemon Mountain Observatory in America earlier this year, it’s not because of how sour it looks. According to NASA calculations, missing this close approach means waiting until around the year 3175—so you’d have to live an extremely long life! Don’t miss out.

Last week saw the launch of Southeast Asia’s largest gaming event: [gamescom asia × Thailand Game Show 2025]. The event ran from October 16 to 19 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand. As the title suggests, this was a merger between two events—previously held separately in Singapore, “gamescom asia” and Thailand’s “Thailand Game Show”—to form a new joint event. Ah! So that’s how it works! Who would’ve thought we’d be reading about gamescom in October? In Thailand, things are happening!

So this week, as always, let’s take a look back at the past week in gaming news and 4Gamer’s coverage—from our top 10 most-accessed articles to notable stories. It’s pointless trying to stop us.

※ For simplicity: PlayStation will be abbreviated as PS, Nintendo Switch as Switch, smartphones as smartphone, etc.

Top 10 Most-Visited Articles Last Week

The #1 spot last week went to an article about Capcom’s hunting action title “Monster Hunter Wilds” (PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X|S), which announced details of a new event quest.
According to the announcement, the free challenge quest “Burn Down, Neko’s Black Coast” will be available for a limited time starting October 29. In this quest, players will take on “Nu Egdra (the Battle-Weary King)”, with rewards including the “Proof of Challenge [Infernal Squid]” as participation prize and exclusive charms such as the “Proof of Hero [Infernal Squid]” and “Proof of Overlord [Infernal Squid]” based on clear time rankings. As a free challenge quest, you can use any gear to chase your record—but it may be tough! Hunters, prepare accordingly.

#2 was a popular sale announcement featuring Drim’s special sale to commemorate the 44th anniversary of the “Wizardry” series: “Wizardry 44th Anniversary SALE.” The original “Wizardry,” released by Sir-Tech for Apple II, was so exclusive in Japan at launch that it felt like only the chosen few could play. Since then, sequels and spin-offs have continued to emerge across various platforms, evolving into a major franchise—most gamers may not have played them all, but they’ve likely heard of the name. Forty-four years? That’s astonishing. I’m an adult, yet there are still many readers who weren’t even born back then!
The article notes that 11 titles—including “Wizardry8”, “Wizardry7: Crusaders of the Dark Savant,” and “Wizardry Side Story: Five Trials”—are available at up to 85% off.
The sale runs until October 27, so take this chance to give it a try.

Then #3 was news about the Pokémon-themed manhole covers, affectionately called “Pokofuta.”
Set to be installed across 8 locations in Hokkaido—including Sapporo City, Horokanai Town, Yubetsu Town, and Beki Town—starting late October through mid-November. Once complete, the total number of Pokofuta in Hokkaido will reach 50. Trying to visit all of them in a single day? Impossible. Hokkaido’s huge!
Now that we’ve started this trend, why not transform all approximately 16 million manhole covers nationwide into “Pokofuta”? If you try it, you can do it!
