Bandai Namco Entertainment today (October 20, 2025) released new information focusing on the world inhabited by vampires and the crucial role of “choices” in gameplay for its upcoming title “CODE VEIN II (Code Vein 2)”, scheduled for release on January 29, 2026 (*).
(* The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are set for release on January 29, 2026, while the Steam version will launch on January 30.)
In this game, a story unfolds in a near-future world collapsing due to a phenomenon known as “Lynne,” portraying vampires striving to survive against their inevitable fate. A key feature of the title is that the protagonist—a vampire hunter—journeys between past and present alongside his companion, the young vampire girl Ruu, driving forward the narrative.
Today we reveal new details about three significant locations: the city once ruled by Jose Anjou (CV: Miyuki Sawashiro), known as “The Queen of Solitude,” who governed the flooded metropolis; Holly Asturias (CV: Aimi Kobayashi), another hero now branded a major criminal—“the Massacre Witch”—who operated a clinic during her time; and the remote island of Magmel, located at the edge of the world.
Jose Anjou
One of the legendary heroes known as “The Queen of Solitude.” In the past, 100 years ago, she ruled over a flooded city and protected survivors. She repeatedly repelled attacks from vampire hunters who opposed vampiric rule, maintaining order.
Holly Asturias
One of the heroes who saved the world, running a clinic dedicated to healing patients ravaged by the Lynne phenomenon. Though she fulfilled her duty as a healer, today she is infamous—branded a major criminal known as “the Massacre Witch.”
First, Jose’s flooded city was largely submerged due to massive Lynne outbreaks. Only a small number of survivors remain, gathered in one location where they barely maintain life.
In the current world, pollution has worsened within this flooded city. Residents have transformed into grotesque monsters, turning it into a dangerous zone.
Moreover, during times of crisis, vampires and vampire hunters work together to sustain human society. However, extremist hunters have carried out rampant “vampire hunts,” causing widespread unrest.
Next, Holly’s clinic was originally operated by the Asturias family—a lineage renowned for their healing abilities and long history of treating vampires. Healing vampires is a double-edged power that consumes the user’s body; her parents sacrificed themselves in pursuit of treatment and research.
Now, 100 years later, the area where the clinic once stood has become known as the “Forest of the Undead.” With Holly gone, no one visits anymore. Trees have died off, transforming the region into a perilous zone teeming with monsters and wandering vampire spirits.

Additionally, within the Forest of the Undead, players will encounter a mysterious girl named Lilith (CV: Megumi Pan). Her role in the story remains to be revealed—stay tuned for updates.
Lilith [CV: Megumi Pan]
A mysterious girl bearing the name of a flower from the afterlife.
She appears before the protagonist and Ruu in the current world, within the Forest of the Undead. Though she seems to know what happened to Holly…

Lastly, Magmel Island. Until 100 years ago, it housed a research facility dedicated to managing ruins and excavating ancient rituals. Today, the site has been repurposed as the base of operations for “Magmel,” an organization protecting people and vampires from the Lynne threat.
Inside the island, a statue remains depicting a lone thief who attacked the research facility 100 years ago—and the former human vampire Noa G. Magmel (CV: Kenjiro Tsuda), who fought and died in combat against him.
When the protagonist travels to the past world, they will be faced with a critical decision: Will they interfere with Noa’s fate? Prioritize saving the present world? Or make the forbidden choice of altering history?
