“PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS” Launches October Update Featuring New Contender Character “Dorian” – Second Contender Arrives; Halloween-Themed “Skibidi Toilet” Arcade Mode Live for Two Weeks from October 22 to November 5
KRAFTON Japan Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Lee Kansok) announced today that it has released an October update for its developed and operated game, “PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS” (hereafter referred to as PUBG), featuring the introduction of a new contender character, improvements in gunplay mechanics, and the addition of a Halloween-themed collaboration mode.
The highlight of this update is the debut of the new contender character, Dorian. The Contender System, first introduced in April, offers players a premium progression-based item that combines various elements such as appearance, emotes, kill effects, dive trails, and kill badges—going beyond simple skins to deliver an expanded gameplay experience through a fully realized character.
Dorian is the guitarist of a heavy metal band obsessed with achieving perfect music. His brutal artistic sensibility—finding pleasure in screams—perfectly aligns with the battlefield atmosphere of the Battlegrounds. Choosing the Battlegrounds as his ultimate stage for completing his musical masterpiece, Dorian will make a powerful presence on the battlefield. Players can obtain Dorian from the Workshop and experience new features and visual effects through upgrades.
Additional improvements have been made to gunplay and game systems:
- Adjusted SMG hip-fire accuracy
- Reduced damage output of MP5K
- Balanced Panzerfaust mechanics
- Revised respawn system (adjusted respawn time based on Blue Chip count; one fewer respawn transport in 8×8 maps)
- Added terrain destruction elements to Miramar
- Various vehicle-related adjustments
These updates enhance the overall gameplay experience across standard matches. Furthermore, in celebration of the Halloween season, a collaboration mode with the globally popular YouTube animated IP “Skibidi Toilet” is now being rolled out sequentially on PC and consoles. This limited-time arcade mode features a PvE boss battle centered around the Toilet Boss and can only be played by 4-player squads.
Players can use “Chemical Cans,” obtained during combat, to upgrade weapons for their next match. Additionally, the new Event Pass titled “Event Pass: Skibidi Toilet” is also available. The Skibidi Toilet mode launches on PC on October 22 and on consoles on October 30, offering a two-week limited-time experience.
