Rebirth Zanado II is an action RPG originally released in 1995 by Nihon Falcom, serving as a remake of the 1985 original “Zanado”. Players take on the role of adventurers exploring all ten stages while battling monsters, with the ultimate goal being to defeat King Dragon.

Combat uses a symbol encounter system. When the player touches a monster, combat mode activates and players fight using weapon attacks (including physical charges) or magic. Defeating enemies causes treasure chests to appear, yielding items and money. Monsters are limited in number—once hunted down completely, they no longer spawn.

Character progression is based on usage: the more weapons and magic you use, the stronger your character becomes. The game features two experience and level systems—Warrior and Mage—which determine whether a player develops along warrior or mage lines depending on how they defeat enemies. Additionally, each weapon, armor, and spell has its own individual experience points; repeatedly using the same item increases their effectiveness. Deciding how to train your character and items is key to mastering the game.

Rebirth Zanado II features a completely reworked map structure, with half of the monsters replaced from the original version. Parameters have also been rebalanced, making this effectively an entirely new release. As stated in its manual: “Even if you’re a Zanado expert, you’ll need to develop your own unique playstyle.” This makes it extremely challenging even for seasoned players.
Additionally, the “Easy Version” of Rebirth Zanado—retaining the original difficulty while enhancing various aspects to make gameplay smoother—is currently available on EGG Console.

【About “Rebirth Zanado II”】
This title is a remake of the real-time action RPG “Zanado,” originally released by Nihon Falcom in 1985, and was first published in 1995—ten years after the original. Players become adventurers who explore all ten stages while battling monsters, ultimately aiming to defeat King Dragon.
