Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the next expansion for its digital card game Hearthstone“Travelers of Timewey”—will be released on November 5, 2025.
Amid a steady stream of new cards being unveiled, we’ve received exclusive information about the Warrior-class Legendary minion “Epoch, Sovereign of Time and Space,” so let’s take a look.

Epoch, Sovereign of Time and Space is a 6-cost Dragon with stats 7/5. It has the battlecry effect “Destroy all minions your opponent played from their hand last turn.”

If you can clear the opponent’s board on Turn 5, you’ll be able to clear it again on Turn 6 using Epoch, maintaining favorable positioning. Conversely, if you fail to clear the board by Turn 5, then when you play Epoch, some of the opponent’s minions will remain on the field—putting you at a disadvantage.

Therefore, this minion may suit aggressive decks that aim to take control of the board rather than defensive decks prone to losing tempo. The stats themselves also reflect an offensive nature.

Additionally, note that the destruction effect specifically targets only “minions played from your hand.” Minions summoned by effects are not destroyed. As a result, Epoch does poorly against cards like the recently released “Mr. Clocksworth,” which have powerful abilities.

Ultimately, Epoch isn’t meant to be the centerpiece of a deck—it’s more of a situational counter-card designed to respond to opponents’ plays. Its effectiveness will therefore depend heavily on how the meta evolves in the new environment. Going forward, it could be interesting to analyze new cards through the lens of “What happens if I play Epoch on my opponent’s response turn?”
