CHAyE today (October 17, 2025) unveiled the latest trailer for its upcoming PC mystery RPG “The Candy House in the Dark Forest.” The game is scheduled to release on Steam in 2026.

This title is inspired by the Grimm fairy tale “Hansel and Gretel.” Players assume the roles of Hansel and Gretel as they challenge themselves to make sweets in a mysterious house deep within the forest.
The candies possess diverse effects—some can be used as weapons, others enhance intelligence or allow shape-shifting—and serve as keys to solving puzzles.

Along the way, they encounter whimsical dolls, mischievous teddy bears, elusive gingerbread twins, and a mysterious witch—all leading them closer to uncovering the truth hidden within the candy house.

The newly released footage allows viewers to experience the game’s ethereal yet unsettling atmosphere in gameplay scenes. Additionally, the game will feature a demo version at the upcoming G-Eight Game Festival in Taiwan, taking place from December 12 to 14.

New Trailer Released: Complete Visual, Gameplay & Character Overhaul

The newly released trailer for The Candy House in the Dark Forest showcases a fully revamped game presentation and system updates.

Additionally, a new character portrait of Hansel and Gretel’s mother, Cecilia, is revealed for the first time.

◆ New Screenshots Released: UI Overhaul, Mouse Support, Storybook-style Cutscenes
Alongside the trailer, new in-game screenshots have been unveiled. The user interface has undergone a complete refresh and now supports mouse operation for improved usability.

Furthermore, story-driven cutscenes featuring a distinctive “storybook-style” aesthetic—different from the main pixel art—have been added, offering players a fresh visual experience that blends fairy tale magic with reality.

◆ G-Eight Game Festival Exclusive: First-Time Demo Release
The latest demo version will be unveiled in person at the G-Eight Game Festival, held December 12–14. This exclusive demo allows attendees to experience story content and systems not yet publicly revealed, including a first look at the game’s core mechanic—solving mysteries through candy-making.

This is the first public release of an upgraded version of the demo; no online distribution is planned. The event will be the only opportunity for players to try it firsthand. Feedback collected from attendees will directly inform future development, helping shape a richer and more refined experience.
