Gamer-focused 34-inch curved ultra-wide VA monitor drops to ¥42,000 from ViewSonic

On October 17, 2025, ViewSonic Japan, the Japanese subsidiary of ViewSonic, announced that it will release the gamer-oriented LCD monitor VX3418C-2K, featuring a 34-inch curved VA panel with a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 21:9, in mid-October.
The estimated retail price including tax is approximately 41,800 yen, making it notably affordable for its specifications.
The VX3418C-2K is essentially a refreshed version of the 2021 model, VX3418-2KPC.
A key feature is its use of a highly curved VA-type LCD panel with a curvature of 1500R (a curve corresponding to a radius of 1,500mm).

Compared to its predecessor, the key improvements include an increase in maximum vertical refresh rate from 144Hz to 180Hz and support for AMD’s proprietary display synchronization technology, FreeSync Premium.
Additionally, the monitor stand now offers a wider range of motion, enabling left-to-right swivel (swevel) functionality.
As mentioned at the beginning, its affordability relative to its specifications makes it an excellent entry-level option for ultra-wide displays.
