To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Akira Toriyama’s popular manga “DRAGON BALL,” the official portal site has announced a special live event titled “Dragon Ball Genki Dama Tsuri”, scheduled to take place on January 25, 2026, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba.
At the main stage venue, a special event titled “New Developments Revealed! Genki Dama Stage Part 1 & 2” will be held. Voice actress Masako Nozawa, who has voiced Son Goku since the series began, and Akio Inoue, Executive Producer of “Dragon Ball DAIMA,” are set to appear on stage and reveal new developments related to the Dragon Ball franchise.
Additionally, a special live performance by Hiroyuki Kagami, who has composed theme songs for numerous anime installments in the Dragon Ball series, is also planned.
Moreover, booths featuring various related titles will be available at the venue, including playable demo stations for “Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO,” as well as games such as “Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle,” “Dragon Ball Legends,” “Dragon Ball Gekishin Squaddra,” and “Dragon Ball Super Divers.” A game tournament will also take place.

Other highlights include the sale of exclusive event merchandise, displays of gashapon machines, “Ichiban Kuji” (first prize) draws, and prizes. The latest information about the “V Jump × S.H.Figuarts Tag Project,” commemorating the series’ milestone of surpassing 200 figures, will also be unveiled.
