Pokémon today (October 15, 2025) unveiled new Pokémon-themed manhole covers—called “Pokofuta”—installed in eight municipalities across Hokkaido.

This time, the covers are being installed in eight locations: Abashiri Town, Yubetsu Town, Tsuabetsu Town, Horonai Town, Atsubetsu Town, Yujin Town, Sakkaru City, and Sapporo City. The designs feature Pokémon such as Toxapex, Yamper, Flapple, Absol, and Pheromosa.
Hokkaido has long been home to numerous Pokofuta, centered around the “Hokkaido Love Discovery Team” characters Alolan Raichu and Raichu, with designs reflecting the region’s rich nature and diverse landscapes. Including these latest additions, the total number of installations now stands at 50 locations.
The Pokofuta are scattered throughout Hokkaido, making it clearly impossible to visit them all in a single day—travel time between sites will be considerable, so visitors should plan for multiple days and overnight stays. It’s recommended to schedule your trip with plenty of flexibility.
