"Ape's Warfare" and "The Last Squad" Demo Versions Released Ahead of Steam Next Fest

STOIC ENTERTAINMENT unveiled demos for “Apes Warfare” and “The Last Squad” at the Steam Next Fest, which began on October 14, 2025.

“Apes Warfare” is a turn-based simulation game depicting the conflict between humanity and evolved apes. It will be available on PC and Mac, with an unspecified release date—though the Steam store page notes it will arrive “soon.” Players take command of units such as infantry, tanks, and fighter aircraft across a map divided into square tiles, using limited resources to battle enemies.

The demo allows players to test their strategies in solo play within a battlefield combining 2D and 3D graphics, or challenge rival commanders in multiplayer mode.

Next, “The Last Squad” is a top-down cooperative shooting game supporting up to four players. It follows the battle between two factions: one composed of people who have survived infection by an unknown substance called “Virex particles”—created through experiments by the biomechanics company Virix—and those who turned into zombies due to infection, and another group that awakened superhuman abilities after surviving the same infection. The game is scheduled for release in Q4 2025.

Players choose characters with different roles—such as tank, offensive, and support—and clear stages by defeating enemies that appear wave after wave. Between waves, players can enhance their characters through in-game purchases at the shop or customizing skills.
