MicroProse Software has announced that the new title from Terrible Toybox, Death by Scrolling, will be released on October 28, 2025, and unveiled its latest trailer on October 14.
The game is a roguelike vertical-scrolling RPG set in “Purgatory,” which has recently undergone a new management system. Players will climb endless stages using unique characters equipped with special parks and abilities.
Players must battle strange monsters, evade an approaching grim reaper, and earn exorbitant fees to cross the river leading to the afterlife.

The screen continuously scrolls forward—once the flames at the bottom of the screen catch up, it’s game over. Use your character’s parks and abilities, upgrades unlocked in shops, and power-ups to boldly push through this whimsical purgatory.
