Indie game developer Mr. Spoon announced today (October 16, 2025) that the PC visual novel “Home: House” will be released on Steam on November 21, priced at 990 yen (tax included).
This title is based directly on Mr. Spoon’s own life experiences, and it unfolds as a “visual novel rhythm adventure” centered around listening to the music of a boy who has run away from home, following his story closely. The narrative follows a young man living each day through street performances, set to acoustic music composed, written, and recorded by the developer himself.
The game features mini-game elements such as a “composition puzzle” using a guitar fretboard and a “street performance” section where players perform in sync with chord progressions. The expected playtime is around two hours, carefully designed to minimize excessive exposition—leaving space for players to personally connect emotionally.

Home: House is a story-driven visual novel that places emphasis on listening to and following the music of a boy who has fled his home. Centered around acoustic music composed, written, and recorded by the developer himself, the game deliberately avoids overt emotional manipulation, instead leaving room for quiet player interpretation.

◆ Developer’s Statement (Background on Creating the Game)
I once dreamed of becoming a musician, but faced the harsh reality of my limitations and ultimately gave up that dream. Later, I developed a new aspiration—creating games—and worked as an intern at a game company, though I never became a full-time employee. After a brief period of uncertainty, I decided to take matters into my own hands: “I’ll make a game using only my skills and my story.” Thus, starting in January 2024, while working part-time jobs, I began developing this title.
My sole hope is that after experiencing Home: House, players might reflect on questions like “What does home mean?” or feel even a small sense of quiet comfort. That’s the only motivation behind creating this game.
