The anime “Gnosia” will begin its broadcast today (October 11, 2025) at 24:00 on channels such as TOKYO MX. It is also scheduled to be streamed on platforms like ABEMA and d Anime Store.
Though perhaps unnecessary to explain for 4Gamer readers, this series is an anime adaptation of the adventure game Gnosia, originally released in 2019 as a PS Vita title and later ported to various platforms.
The story takes place aboard a spaceship infiltrated by an unknown enemy called “Gnosia,” which disguises itself as humans. To survive the crisis, crew members must vote daily to send one person into cryosleep. However, protagonist Yuri finds himself trapped in a loop that always brings him back to day one—this is where the story begins.
Yuri is an original character created for the anime, but the other 14 main characters are all carried over from the game. One highlight worth noting is that these characters now feature voice acting by a star-studded cast, something absent in the original game.
With 15 main characters, newcomers to the series may find it challenging to grasp each character’s traits. To help with this, this article introduces the 14 non-Yuri characters based on their final lines before cryosleep—lines spoken at critical moments when true personalities often emerge, making them especially revealing.
Setsu
Voice Actor (Anime): Yumi Hasegawa
I guess that’s it…
I’m leaving now. See you again someday
A reliable companion who supports the amnesiac protagonist. Though she appears calm and helpful, she is actually a former soldier—early in the game, she convinces the crew of how to eliminate Gnosia through strong leadership. She also seems aware of the time loop, making her “See you again someday” more than just polite formality.
SQ
Voice Actor (Anime): Ako Watanabe
Hmm… Well, I guess there’s no choice.
I wonder how cryosleep affects beauty…
A mischievous character who never reveals her true feelings, often dodging serious topics with ambiguous jokes or evasive remarks. Even when facing cryosleep, she shows no signs of seriousness—her attitude remains light and playful.
Lacio
Voice Actor (Anime): Hiroki Shinozaki
…So you’re freezing me now. How pitiful. It’s like a group suicide of animals. Ah well—I’m fine with it. I’ll accept even if this is equivalent to a death sentence. In fact, it feels sweet. Truly moving.
A highly intelligent and logical thinker who relentlessly tries to uncover Gnosia. In the game, he often quizzes the protagonist and lectures them with a condescending tone. However, his pride makes him react dramatically when selected for cryosleep—his speech overflows with emotional outbursts.
Gina
Voice Actor (Anime): Masami Seto
…Good night.
I think I’ll be dreaming of all of you
A character who rarely changes expression, repeatedly telling herself “Yes, I’m the one being suspected” when questioned. Her final words before cryosleep—“I’ll be dreaming of all of you”—raise questions: are these companions or enemies who cast her out?
Shigemichi
Voice Actor (Anime): Tomokazu Sugita
Uuuuugh… It’s so frustrating!
It hurts that no one believed in me.
I’ll use my cryosleep time for reflection!
One of the rare characters on the ship who is openly emotional and loyal to friends. Though he resembles a typical “Gray” alien, he’s actually one of the most human-like, passionate crew members. His positive attitude remains strong even when selected for cryosleep.
Stella
Voice Actor (Anime): Saori Hayami
…It’s your decision, everyone. I understand.
While in cryosleep, I’ll be cheering you all on
As someone responsible for managing the ship, she speaks gently and respectfully—even when suspecting others, using honorifics. Even though she’s selected for cryosleep, her concern for the crew remains evident.
Yuriko
Voice Actor (Anime): Aoi Yūki
Humans… how presumptuous
She commands the room with an intimidating presence—challenge her at your own risk, as she can easily turn others against you. Yet when trying to be friendly, she’s usually ignored. Her final words reflect a clear sense of superiority over fellow crew members.
Comet
Voice Actor (Anime): Ayane Sakura
Got it—I’m going into cryosleep.
Everyone… do your best! Don’t give up!
Highly intuitive and skilled at detecting lies, though she struggles to lie herself—her emotions show clearly on her face. When delivering “Do your best! Don’t give up!” with such a sincere expression, even those who voted for her might feel reassured.
Shibi
Voice Actor (Anime): Yuuichi Nakamura
Faa… I’ll go ahead then.
I just hate how cold it gets in an instant
Even when questioning someone, he does so with a friendly tone—asking “Aren’t you overdoing it?” in a refreshing way. His yawn before cryosleep might be an intentional act of consideration to avoid making others feel guilty.
Jonas
Voice Actor (Anime): Kenjiro Tsuda
Heh… Silence is something I appreciate too.
Daytime dreams, nighttime reality. Then let us go forth…
The ship’s captain, known for his indirect speech—when accused, he replies, “You suspect me more than I suspect myself.” His cryosleep line is no exception to this style.
Kukurushika
Voice Actor (Anime): No voice actor listed
(Kukurushika… has chosen sleep)
A character who communicates entirely through expressions and gestures, never speaking a word. In the game, her intentions are conveyed via text like “(Suspecting ●●),” but during cryosleep, viewers must interpret her emotions purely from facial expression—making her portrayal in the anime especially intriguing.
Otome
Voice Actor (Anime): Kana Hanazawa
I’ve been chosen for cryosleep.
Since I like cold things, it’s no problem
A sentient white dolphin who, while capable of deceiving humans as Gnosia in the game, is generally friendly and comforting by appearance. Her resilient final words make her seem even more endearing—hard not to sympathize.
Remnan
Voice Actor (Anime): Go Aoki
You’ve chosen me… You all have.
…Understood. I’ll go into cryosleep
A shy, timid character who avoids eye contact and often seems nervous. But when he speaks up, his words carry strong weight. Though polite in tone, there’s an underlying accusatory edge—how this comes across through voice acting will be worth watching.
Shimin (Shamie)
Voice Actor (Anime): Takayuki Kondo
If I’m the one going into cryosleep…
Won’t it get lonely? Don’t regret it
A typical “ladies’ man” character—selfish, flirtatious, and speaking in a mix of katakana and English. His attitude toward Yuri changes depending on whether he’s portrayed as male or female. His cryosleep line fits this persona perfectly—but surprisingly, it seems like he might be the one most heartbroken.
