Deck-building roguelite game "Runeborn," which crushes enemies with magical slots, launches early access on Steam; development roadmap unveiled

Astrolabe Games today (October 10, 2025) launched early access for the PC strategy game “Runeborn” on Steam. The standard price is ¥1,499, but until October 24, a 30% discount offers it at ¥1,049 (tax included).

This title is developed by iDream Interactive, a roguelite game that uniquely fuses deck-building mechanics with slot machine gameplay. Players wield the magical slot device, the “Book of Runes,” to obliterate corrupted “dark minions.” The Book of Runes activates spells through combinations of elemental runes, allowing players to construct their own personalized rune book and strive toward their ideal build.

Along with the launch of early access, the game’s development roadmap has also been revealed. The next major update, “Echoes of Fate,” is scheduled for November, followed by “Shadows Awakened” in December, and “Beyond the Ashes” planned for 2026. Upcoming updates will include features such as an Easy Mode, achievements system, improved bosses, elite enemies, and basic enemy mechanics.

“Runeborn” Early Access Launches Today

Astrolabe Games has announced that the slot-machine-style deck-building game, “Runeborn,” is now available in early access today (Friday, October 10).

The game is available for PC (Steam) and Steam Deck. Early access pricing is ¥1,499, with an additional 30% discount offered as a launch celebration.

Along with the release, a new trailer has been unveiled. “Runeborn” is a roguelite that creatively combines deck-building mechanics with slot machine gameplay. Players gather multiple Rune Codices (runes), combine elemental runes to form chains, and unleash powerful spells to defeat corrupted dark minions.

The current early access build includes numerous deep-play features, and the full development roadmap has also been released. Below are details on this release’s content and upcoming updates:
