Warner Bros. has today (October 10, 2025) announced the second film in the Minecraft sandbox game adaptation series, titled Minecraft: The Movie. It is set for release in the United States on July 23, 2027.
Details about the film and its release date in Japan have not yet been disclosed.

Minecraft: The Movie is directed by Jared Hess. Four unique individuals are transported to the Minecraft world by mysterious cube powers and join forces with Steve, portrayed by Jack Black, in a battle for survival.

The film achieved worldwide success, surpassing the opening record of The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023) in the U.S., setting the highest-ever box office opening record for a video game adaptation.
