This game is a dream collaboration between two distinctive creators: SWERY, known for titles such as “Deadly Premonition” (Japanese title: Red Seasons Profile), and SUDA51 of Grasshopper Manufacture, famous for the “No More Heroes” series. Players take on the role of Justin, the protagonist harboring the deranged murderer Dr. Carnival within his mind, as they battle against a horde of vicious serial killers in Hotel Barcelona.

The game features visuals evoking 1980s American horror films, a story rich with love and homage to the genre, and an innovative loop system called “Shocker Phantom,” where dead players join as allies. These elements give it a distinctive flair that goes far beyond typical action games.

This update addresses several issues that could cause frustration during play, including frames where input wasn’t registered, bugs related to combo skill activation conditions, a glitch preventing bonus doors from appearing under certain circumstances, and synchronization problems in multiplayer. Additionally, the developers have confirmed that AI-generated content used in the VHS segments has been completely removed from the game, effectively eliminating all AI elements.

As previously mentioned in interviews (see related article), continuous updates are planned for the game after launch. The release of patch v1.0.2 marks the first step in this ongoing development—fans and players alike will want to keep an eye on how future improvements shape the experience.
