Unused instruments are handled by the CPU; after finishing a song, replay data is saved so you can later re-perform the CPU’s part yourself. This allows one person to enjoy up to four sessions.
In multiplayer mode, players can gather with friends using a single Switch console and game software to perform together in an offline session. In multiplayer, players can enjoy local co-op with up to four people simultaneously or connect online using replay data shared by other players. The arrangement mode enables creating over 120,000 unique arrangements—letting you craft your own personalized versions of songs.

Players can choose songs from a list, which are randomly selected during gameplay.
Online mode matches your session with replay data uploaded by other players across the world. The system automatically pairs you based on criteria such as most recent uploads or scores above certain thresholds.
