Koei Tecmo Games has today (October 9, 2025) announced that the historical simulation game “Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 REMAKE with Power-Up Kit” will be released on January 29, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.

The price for the PC version of Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 REMAKE with Power-Up Kit is ¥11,880, while the home console versions are priced at ¥13,780. The standalone Power-Up Kit for PC costs ¥5,280 and for home consoles, ¥4,730 (both prices include tax).

This title is a power-up version of “Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 REMAKE,” the first major remake in the series’ history. It introduces new features such as “Jewels,” allowing players to obtain diverse commands based on different roles like ruler, governor, or strategist, and offering ever-changing general development with each playthrough; and “Turning Points,” where rising “Fortune”—driven by time passing and disasters—can dramatically shift the status of factions and break stalemates. Additionally, it includes five new fictional scenarios, Chinese voice acting, and other extensive enhancements to allow players to enjoy an endless variety of Three Kingdoms experiences.

We are pleased to announce that the historical simulation game Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 REMAKE with Power-Up Kit, created in celebration of the series’ 40th anniversary, will be released on January 29, 2026 (Thursday). To mark this release, we have launched a promotional video showcasing the title’s highlights, as well as a special website commemorating the 40th anniversary and an anniversary trailer. Pre-orders for the physical edition are now available.

In celebration of the announcement, we are also running a “Follow & Re-post” campaign on our official X account (formerly Twitter), where followers can win an original beer mug.
