The ROG Strix XG248QSG Ace achieves its ultra-fast performance by utilizing ASUS’s proprietary “Super TN” TN-type panel, enabling a vertical maximum refresh rate of 610Hz (under overclocking). The display measures 24.1 inches with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels (hereafter referred to as Full HD).

Recently, esports tournaments have increasingly used monitors with vertical maximum refresh rates of 360Hz or 480Hz. While these already deliver very fast screen updates, professional gamer Mr. NICO, who attended the event, stated that “once you experience 610Hz, returning to 360Hz feels impossible” — highlighting a noticeable difference in actual perception.
The ROG Strix XG248QSG Ace has been finely tuned for its 610Hz performance: intermediate (Gray-to-Gray) response time is as fast as 0.1ms minimum, and input lag is reduced to just 0.8ms. Additionally, it features ASUS’s proprietary motion blur reduction technology, “ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur) 2,” effectively minimizing image ghosting.

ELMB works by briefly turning off the display’s LED backlight between refresh cycles — inserting a black frame to reduce ghosting. However, this method previously caused displays to appear darker. With ELMB 2, ASUS increased the number of LEDs, boosting brightness threefold compared to earlier models.
Moreover, despite using a TN-type panel, which typically results in duller color reproduction, the ROG Strix XG248QSG Ace achieves an impressive wide color gamut — covering up to 90% of DCI-P3, a standard used for digital cinema. This means its color output is not compromised, delivering vibrant and accurate visuals.

Dual-Mode OLED Displays
Two New Products Introduced
Two new OLED displays were unveiled as upcoming products: the ROG Strix OLED XG32UCWG and ROG Strix OLED XG32UCWMG, both featuring 31.5-inch screens with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels (hereafter referred to as 4K). A key feature is their dual-mode capability, allowing users to switch between maximum refresh rates for 4K and Full HD displays.

The main difference between the two models lies in their maximum refresh rates. The ROG Strix OLED XG32UCWG supports up to 165Hz at 4K resolution and 330Hz at Full HD, while the ROG Strix OLED XG32UCWMG reaches 240Hz (4K) and 480Hz (Full HD).

Both models use white OLED pixels combined with color filters — a standard approach in white OLED panels. However, previous displays using this technology often featured glossy or semi-glossy screens that reflected people, objects, and lighting sources easily. To address this issue, ASUS developed its new TrueBlack Glossy film, reducing ambient reflections by 38% compared to prior models. Sitting directly in front of the display confirmed minimal visibility of silhouettes and facial reflections.

The improved anti-reflective properties allow for strong black levels even in bright environments. Live streamer Mr. Kashiwagi Belkura, who attended the event, praised the display’s tight blacks and immersive viewing experience.
OLED displays are often a concern due to screen burn-in risks. ASUS OLED models include several built-in anti-burn-in features: “Screen Move” periodically shifts pixel positions; brightness auto-adjusts; and an integrated proximity sensor automatically turns off the screen when the user is away. These measures are covered under a 3-year warranty, providing peace of mind for users worried about burn-in.

For the top-tier model, it uses a 24-core, 24-thread “Core Ultra 9 275HX” CPU paired with the “GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU,” delivering specifications that rival even high-end market offerings.
Cooling is achieved through three air-cooling fans combined with an advanced “QuietFlow cooling system,” which includes a larger vapor chamber compared to previous models, enabling CPU TDP (Thermal Design Power) up to 135W.
