Shochiku Broadcasting announced today (October 9, 2025) that it has partnered with KDDI to revamp its regular senior-focused e-sports experience events held at esports Style UENO in Taito Ward, Tokyo. The revamped program will simultaneously support cognitive function improvement and address seniors’ common smartphone usage concerns.

The senior-focused e-sports experience events aim to help seniors in the era of life expectancy reaching 100 years by enjoying brain stimulation, maintaining health, and expanding social circles through playing puzzle game “Puyo Puyo e-Sports.” The events are scheduled monthly on weekdays until December, with free admission.

Starting from the fourth event on October 23, participants will enjoy not only a brain-stimulating experience using Puyo Puyo e-Sports but also a dedicated session addressing seniors’ common smartphone-related concerns: “Smartphone Troubleshooting Support Session.”

In this support session, KDDI’s specialized staff will kindly and patiently assist with everyday challenges such as how to type text or scan QR codes. Participants from other mobile carriers are also welcome.

As we enter the era of 100-year lifespans, it is increasingly important for seniors to live joyfully and authentically. In response to this need, Shochiku Broadcasting Co., Ltd.—operator of the senior community site “NaviTomo”—has strengthened its collaboration with KDDI Co., Ltd.—operator of e-sports facility esports Style UENO—to enhance and expand their successful monthly event series that began in July 2025. Building on participant feedback, this program has been further enriched as part of a major upgrade. The venue remains the state-of-the-art esports Style UENO.

The revamped experience combines two components: an engaging brain-stimulation session using the national puzzle game “Puyo Puyo e-Sports,” and a dedicated support session for seniors’ common smartphone concerns.

1. Enjoy brain stimulation through the national puzzle game “Puyo Puyo e-Sports” (3F Open Game Space)

  • Professional players will serve as instructors for a hands-on “brain-stimulating game experience.” No prior gaming or venue familiarity required—our pro instructors and staff will provide patient, step-by-step guidance on operations and gameplay. Participants can enjoy brain activation and make new friends with confidence.

2. Free smartphone consultation by KDDI/au store staff (3F Special Consultation Booth)

  • Staff will kindly and patiently assist with common daily smartphone challenges such as how to type text or scan QR codes. Users of other carriers are also warmly welcome—take this opportunity to resolve your concerns.
