Sega today (October 7, 2025) has unveiled information about the new map “Kinlaig”, set to appear in the upcoming major expansion pack “Highlands Fishing” for Farming Simulator 25 (available on PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X|S / Mac), scheduled for release on November 4.
Kinlaig is a map featuring vast landscapes, grand bridges, and open seas seamlessly integrated into one environment. It includes traditional brick-built structures and reconstructible castle ruins that reflect the region’s cultural heritage, along with fishing ports, steam locomotives, and cutting-edge agricultural machinery—offering players an immersive experience of coastal life where tradition and progress coexist.
Additionally, this expansion introduces new gameplay elements such as fish farming at sea and shore-based fishing. Players can now enjoy casual fishing in lakes, rivers, and oceans using rods purchasable from local shops. Furthermore, a wide range of aquaculture operations have been added—including fish breeding facilities, offshore fish farms, feed production, and transport ships—allowing players to expand their business beyond agriculture, livestock, and forestry into the new sector of aquaculture.
Alongside the announcement, a map trailer showcasing Kinlaig’s location has been released. The video features sweeping views of Kinlaig where rivers meet the sea, fishing boats and fish swimming in the waters, as well as the introduction of a new animal species: the “Highland Cattle.”

Sega Corporation has announced details about the new map “Kinlaig”, featured in the upcoming major expansion pack “Highlands Fishing” for Farming Simulator 25, available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam/Epic Games Store/Windows), and Mac. The game has already surpassed 3 million copies sold worldwide. A trailer introducing Kinlaig is also now available.
Set in a Highland-themed environment, the new map of Kinlaig offers expansive landscapes combined with monumental bridges and open seas. Characterized by traditional brick buildings and rebuildable castle ruins reflecting local cultural heritage, it also features fishing ports, steam locomotives, and modern agricultural machinery—allowing players to experience coastal life where tradition and innovation thrive together.
The expansion adds new gameplay elements such as fish farming at sea and shore-based fishing. With rods available from local shops, players can enjoy casual fishing in lakes, rivers, or the open ocean. Additionally, a variety of aquaculture operations have been introduced—including breeding facilities, offshore farms, feed production, and transport vessels—enabling players to expand their business into aquaculture, in addition to agriculture, livestock farming, and forestry.

The “Highlands Fishing Edition” includes the “Highlands Fishing” expansion pack, along with the downloadable content “MacDon Pack,” which features additional farming machinery and attachments for Farming Simulator 25. The Year 1 Season Pass, which includes “Highlands Fishing” plus three other add-on packs, is also currently available.
