"Nikkō Orchestra × Pokémon Classic Concert Tour" & "Dragon Quest IV" Concert, Scheduled for 2026

NHK Symphony Orchestra (hereinafter, NHK SO) will hold the “NHK SO × Pokémon Classic Concert Tour” at four venues nationwide in August 2026.

This performance is a collaborative project between Pokémon, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, and NHK SO, marking its 100th anniversary. The concerts are scheduled to take place at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Kyoto Concert Hall, The Symphony Hall (Osaka), and Akaros Fukuoka, with conductor Taku Yokoyama leading the orchestra.
The performance dates are as follows:
● August 21, 2026 (Fri) 7:00 PM – Tokyo Bunka Kaikan
● August 22, 2026 (Sat) 3:30 PM – Kyoto Concert Hall
● August 23, 2026 (Sun) 2:00 PM – The Symphony Hall
● August 24, 2026 (Mon) 7:00 PM – Akaros Fukuoka
Additionally, NHK SO plans to hold a “Dragon Quest IV Concert” on February 27, 2026 at 7:00 PM at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan. The orchestra has the distinction of being responsible for the first orchestral recording of the music from this title. Conductor Ryuya Shono will lead this concert as well. Separate performances are also scheduled at other venues on different dates.
