The PC software “PICO PARK: Classic Edition” was originally scheduled to go paid in its 9-year update, but unexpectedly has become a game that will remain free forever.
This title is the original version of “PICO PARK,” released in 2016 for PC and Nintendo Switch. It features a smaller number of stages and is notable for supporting up to 10 players. The official website previously stated that online cooperative play was not supported, but this changed with an update on September 13, which added full support for online co-op.
Although the game was set to become paid again just one week after its 9-year update, Steam’s policy—stating that “once switched from paid to free, it can never be made paid again”—meant the game would remain permanently free going forward.
Incidentally, while the Steam store page lists “Japanese is not supported,” this only means that menus and options are not available in Japanese. The game itself remains playable even for those who cannot read English.

The Steam-exclusive “PICO PARK: Classic Edition (2016)” is permanently free! https://t.co/MVs2BKQPeP
I tried to revert it back to paid after the update, but forgot that once you go from paid to free, you can never make it paid again! Sad…
If you enjoyed this free version, give the rest of the series a try too. It’s strange that just one game in the series supports 10 players… Sad… pic.twitter.com/FyxKH2ttWD
