The trailer titled “Wander In Watanabe Mode” for Ghost of Yōtei, released on October 2, 2025, has been unveiled on PlayStation’s official YouTube channel.
Set in Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido) during the year 1603, this upcoming period action-adventure from Sucker Punch Productions serves as a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. It follows the revenge story of its protagonist, Toku. Continuing with the previous game’s signature black-and-white cinematic style, the title features “Kurosawa Mode,” while introducing two new visual modes: “Mikami Mode” and “Watanabe Mode.”
“Mikami Mode” pays homage to films directed by Takashi Miike, featuring close-up camera shots during combat scenes that heighten realism. “Watanabe Mode” lets players enjoy Lo-Fi tracks—calm, analog-style music with intentional noise—as composed by director Shin’ichirō Watanabe.
The newly released trailer showcases gameplay in “Watanabe Mode,” perfectly complementing the game’s beautiful Ezo landscapes with a soothing Lo-Fi soundtrack.
