Manjuu Games is exhibiting “Azur Promilia” (PC / iOS / Android) as a playable title at Tokyo Game Show 2025, held from September 25 to 28 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba.
This version is a Japanese localization of the one showcased at BiliBili World 2025 in China back in July (related article), but this marks the first time players in Japan can actually try it out. While the demo at BiliBili World was limited to just 10 minutes, this time around we had plenty of opportunity to play thoroughly—so here’s our updated play report.
The second title in the “Azur” series, following Manjuu Games’ “Azur Lane,” is a fantasy RPG featuring anime-style 3D graphics. Players assemble a party of three characters and three monster-like creatures called “Kibo,” exploring an imaginative world together.

Given that this is a Manjuu Games title, the standout feature has to be the beautiful female characters. Unlike at BiliBili World where photo opportunities were limited, we managed to take many photos here—so let’s start by displaying all playable characters available in this demo. …Upon organizing the photos, I realized I accidentally forgot to photograph Terara with red hair, so not every character is represented. My apologies.

Additionally, when selecting characters on the character selection screen, displaying skill performance or profile details triggers unique poses for each character—very cute indeed. Since motion is hard to convey through still images, we’d like to recommend checking out the character introduction videos playing at the booth; many characters not available during this demo also appear.
Next up: these are the Kibo, a crucial part of the game. When you use “Stellar Cards” on Kibo in the field, it triggers “Starlink.” If successful, the Kibo becomes an ally and joins your battle.
Not only do they automatically attack, but each also has unique active skills—so they essentially increase your number of attacks. Even just setting them up provides strong support.

Successfully acquired. A rabbit-like Kibo named Meloomee.
Kibo feature a collection system in the bestiary, as well as individual missions for each one. Completing these missions strengthens them—giving players additional fun in nurturing their favorite Kibo.

Furthermore, outside of battle, Kibo can be ridden to move more easily around the field. There’s also a content mode called “Kibo Fight,” where you place cardized Kibo and fight automatically—making for many opportunities to use them. Honestly, this game could stand alone just as a “main character + Kibo” title; adding multiple characters into party composition makes it quite ambitious.
Riding demonstration. Mounted Kibo must be set separately from battle-ready ones; you can fight while riding, but they vanish when dismounted.
In Kibo Fight, you spend increasing costs over time to place Kibo. They automatically fight and aim to destroy crystals in the enemy base.
Of course, there are exploration elements across vast fields, as well as production features like gathering materials from plants and minerals to craft items—suggesting a surprisingly rich content offering even within this demo’s limited scope.

On the field, three types of powerful “Ultra Limit” Kibo—boss-like monsters—are present. Since we had more time to play this round for our report, I took the opportunity to defeat all three; here’s a detailed breakdown of combat mechanics.
You might assume that battles involving characters and Kibo would be relaxed, with player-guided commands. But the actual combat in this game is quite fast-paced—requiring sharp reactions and precise responses as you anticipate enemy movements.
The main focus is character control. Left-click for basic attacks, use skills with cooldown (press [E]), and unleash ultimate abilities using gauge consumption ([R]). Additionally, skills activate when switching characters—so smart usage of swaps is highly recommended.
Moreover, you can also use Kibo’s skills via the [Q] key, effectively giving each character access to two skills plus a special move.
A standout feature is that “Parry” has been assigned to the frequently used right-click. When executed at the precise moment—when enemies glow yellow—it can fully block attacks or slow down enemy movement, creating counterattack opportunities.
However, not all attacks are parryable; in those cases, you must dodge using [Shift] dash. If timed correctly, this leads to a perfect dodge—the response mechanics keep combat quite intense.
Combat is packed with things to do—so much so that you can’t help but take it seriously, treating this like a full-action game. It’s hard to predict the final balance, but at present, this title leans more heavily into action elements than its visual style suggests.
Personally, I was already quite excited after trying it out at BiliBili World—and now, experiencing the combat depth firsthand has only deepened my anticipation. With various attributes assigned to both characters and Kibo, crafting effective parties against strong enemies will require serious thought. You could build a team entirely around advantageous traits or bolster your favorite character with suitable Kibo—plenty of strategic possibilities exist.
The overall quality of this game is immediately apparent upon playing, so we strongly recommend visiting the booth and trying it out for yourself. There are quite a few demo stations available, but free trial tickets for the day will be distributed on a first-come basis near the demo area—so securing one early might be wise.
