Epic Games has today (October 3, 2025) launched a new service related to the Epic Games Store — “Epic Web Shops” — in select regions. This is an independent storefront outside of any platform that allows developers to sell in-game content.

Epic Web Shops are available not only for games distributed on the Epic Games Store, but also for titles published via the App Store and Google Play. Developers can use the service according to their own preferences.

From a player’s perspective, features like Epic Rewards and Epic account balance are seamlessly integrated with the Epic Games account, offering existing users added convenience.

Additionally, there is a mechanism that returns 100% of net revenue up to $1 million (approximately 145 million JPY) per title annually. After exceeding this threshold, a fee of 12% applies.

It’s important to note that while the platform’s fees are extremely low, how much is ultimately passed on to players depends entirely on the developer. Both Epic’s and developers’ own refund policies remain points of interest.
