The mobile game “Nobunaga’s Ambition: The Path to Unification,” developed by Gravity Game Alliance (iOS / Android), has entered Season 2, starting September 17, 2025 (only on some servers: S001–S016).
This game is a mobile MMO historical strategy simulation based on the official license of Koei Tecmo Games’ “Nobunaga’s Ambition: Tenkai.” Developed by Tenda Games and Kingnet, players take on the role of daimyo lords during Japan’s Sengoku period, striving to expand their faction and achieve national unification.
The game uses a “seasonal system,” where progress resets at regular intervals (approximately 3 months per season). At each seasonal transition, players receive rewards based on their performance in the prior season.
Note: Some resources such as acquired generals or taught battle tactics can carry over to the next season. Please check the official website announcement for details.
Now, having successfully completed the first season, the game is currently in full swing with Season 2—featuring numerous updates including new generals such as “Ieyasu Masamune,” along with fresh elements like “Famous Horses” and “Rank Advancement.”
But you might be wondering: What exactly makes this season different from the previous one? After personally playing through, we’ve verified all the changes.

New Battlefield — Aim for Unity in Season 2!
Season 2 has implemented numerous improvements based on feedback from the first season. Major changes have been made across core mechanics, including adjustments to control value, reputation points, and resource zone limits.
Let’s cover rewards given to players who completed the prior season:
- “Season Reward” – Granted depending on your faction’s status at the end of each fiscal period, providing items such as gold or rights to special recruitment.
- “Achievement Evaluation Reward” – If your achievement score from last season was 15,000 or higher, you can obtain “Achievement Recruitment.”
- “Merit Points” – These are determined by prior-season combat achievements and territory value. Merit points can be exchanged for rewards at the “Seasonal Market,” particularly notable being battle scrolls that teach administrative-focused strategies.
These scroll-based tactics reduce time for actions such as conscription or fog removal, helping players get off to a smooth start in Season 2—so it’s best to use them early and maximize their benefits.

Season 2 features a new recruitment campaign called “Elegant Era.” This includes ten newly added generals: newcomers like Ieyasu Masamune and Sanada Yukitaka, as well as “SSRized” veterans such as Saito Tomonobu and Shibata Katsuie.
The new generals are clearly marked with an “S2” label beneath their control value, making them easy to identify at a glance. Many players will be eager to learn about these new characters’ abilities—so let’s take a look at each one.
★New Generals (6)
■ Ieyasu Masamune (Date Masamune)

Control Value: 6
Position: Horse Retainer
Battle Tactic: Strategic Assault
Highly proficient in cavalry and firearms (S-tier), with all stats at a high level. But what makes him truly exceptional is his command tactic, “Strategic Assault,” which grants allies damage proportional to their strategic ability. This enables strategically-focused units to shine. However, since it replaces normal attacks with strategic ones, this tactic has poor synergy with follow-up attack tactics—so use caution.
■ Sanada Yukitaka (Sanada Yukitaka)

Battle Tactic: Advisor of Bungo
A strategy-focused general with strong proficiency in both weapons and bows. High proficiency with bows, and moderate aptitude in cavalry and foot soldiers. Overall high stats make him versatile for various strategies. However, his command tactic “Command of Flank and Front” boosts control (leader), martial valor (first deputy), and strategic ability (second deputy) every turn—so careful planning is required when positioning and building units.
■ Gamō Ujisato (Gamō Ujisato)

Position: Vanguard Unit
Battle Tactic: Heroic Force
Exceptional aptitude in cavalry, with top-tier control, martial valor, and speed. His autonomous tactic “Heroic Force” performs well as a pure attacker—making him effective across all types of situations.
New Combat Power – “Famous Horses” Arrive!
Starting Season 2, a new equipment type called “Famous Horses” has been added. Although named horses, they are not limited to cavalry units—any general can equip them.
To obtain a Famous Horse, first you must unlock the “Horse Training” function. To do so, locate a “Horse Pasture” facility in the wild and defeat bandits before visiting it.
In Horse Training, you spend copper coins and food to randomly obtain one Famous Horse of varying quality. Some also carry random “Special Skills.”
Initially, high-quality horses are rare—but the chance of obtaining higher-tier ones increases with each rise in “Training Level.” You level up by gaining experience points from training sessions.
Note: Training is limited to 5 times per day, but this cap increases by one each time you visit a new Horse Pasture on the wilderness map. The daily limit resets at midnight—so make sure to train every day without fail.
Horse Training can be accessed from the “Governance” screen Thumbnail image No. 029 / “Nobunaga’s Ambition: The Path to Unification” Season 2 is hot! Like traditional gear, Famous Horses are equipped through each general’s equipment screen. Choose based on the abilities and skills they provide—matching them to your generals’ roles.

Achieve “Unique Effects” via “Rank Advancement!”
“Rank Advancement” is a feature that promotes generals to higher-tier positions, unlocking after completing Chapter 5 of “Tenkai no Bu.”
Only SSR generals at Level 30 or above can undergo Rank Advancement—achieved by consuming two SSR generals of the same position.

Though the material cost is high, the rewards are substantial. In addition to stat boosts based on position, you gain two new effects: “Rank Effect” (basic and advanced).
The Rank Effects are selected via lottery from three options—choose one to acquire. To reroll for another option:
- For basic effect: spend copper coins.
- For advanced effect: use a special item called “Effect Scroll.”
You can also choose whether to keep your current selection or proceed with the next roll—so plan wisely.

The basic effect grants “Common Effect,” a straightforward enhancement—such as increasing damage dealt or reducing damage taken. These are intuitive and easy to understand.
Meanwhile, the advanced effect may include rare “Unique Effects”—special abilities that vary greatly from general to general. These can involve altering the first battle tactic’s effect or triggering unique actions, making each one distinct.
These effects are so powerful they’re practically equivalent to a fourth battle tactic, so aim to acquire them if possible. Effect Scrolls for advanced effects can be obtained through seasonal markets.
After acquiring an additional first tactic, you can switch between it and the original Thumbnail image No. 037 / “Nobunaga’s Ambition: The Path to Unification” Season 2 is hot!
