Indie development team Onigiri Kitten has unveiled the first promotional video (PV) and Steam store page for their upcoming title, “Ash Elegy: Under the Cursed Wings” (PC).
This traditional turn-based RPG features a unique blend of 2D artwork with a picture book aesthetic and 3D environments, creating an immersive adventure experience.
The first PV offers glimpses of the game’s distinctive graphics and battle sequences, as well as music composed by Saki Momiya, former sound creator at Nihon Falcom, who is part of the ECLIPSE Sound Team.
In this world, a continent once shrouded in eternal night under demonic rule was saved when a goddess descended from the heavens to become the sun. With her light, people fought monsters and successfully sealed away a great demon god. But as time passed, disaster again loomed over the sun itself—now only three months of life remain for this land. Upon learning of the prophecy of doom, a young boy and girl set out on a journey to the remote snowy valley, determined to defy their predetermined fate.
The battle system is based on classic turn-based combat but introduces a new feature called the “Combo Preset System.” Players can pre-configure multiple skills into custom combo sequences, which are then unleashed as rapid attacks during battles—delivering an exhilarating and satisfying combat experience. The game features four playable characters, each with unique personalities and abilities, allowing for diverse and dynamic gameplay.
The game is currently available on PC via Steam, with its store page launching alongside the first PV. While a release date has not yet been announced, fans are eagerly looking forward to future updates.
