Protagonist
A vampire hunter fighting to protect people.
He embarks on a journey back 100 years into the past to save the world.
Next is the gameplay system. The beloved “Buddy System” from the previous game now features new elements: players can switch between “Summoning,” where a buddy appears to fight alongside, and “Possession,” where the buddy is stored in the back’s “Jail” to merge with the protagonist and boost their stats—depending on the situation.
Summoning
The buddy materializes to fight alongside the player. The buddy acts independently, attacking and supporting as needed. Effective when facing multiple enemies or enabling flanking maneuvers.
Possession
By storing the buddy inside the back’s “Jail,” the protagonist becomes one with them, enhancing their stats. Highly effective when facing a powerful single enemy.
Each character brings unique abilities as a buddy. Luu excels in quick slashes and long-range spells, supporting from any distance; Jose specializes in close combat using magic, aggressively attacking from the front line.
Luu’s Buddy Traits
Luu supports the player from any range with fast slashes and long-distance spells. Her legendary spell “Idris’ Pride”—a battle axe—slows enemy movement, creating openings for attacks.
Jose’s Buddy Traits
Jose fights with a large blade exceeding his height. He excels in close combat using spells and actively charges forward to attack.
Additionally, new vampire hunter gear has been revealed. Among them are two types of “Jail” equipment: “Hounds,” which summons two fierce wolves that continuously bite enemies and drain blood; and “Reaper,” which envelops the user with a death god puppet and uses a large scythe to slice through foes and drain their life force.
New weapon types—“Dual Blades” and “Rune Blade”—have also been unveiled.
Jail: Hounds
A type of vampire hunter’s “Jail” equipment. Summons two ferocious wolves that relentlessly attack and drain blood from enemies in succession. They are less fearful of enemy attacks, enabling aggressive blood-draining tactics.
Jail: Reaper
A type of vampire hunter’s “Jail” equipment. Wraps the user in a death god puppet and uses a massive scythe to slice through enemies, draining blood. It enables counters from rotating parries and wide-area attacks with sweeping cuts.
Dual Blades
A newly added weapon type in this game. Exploits high mobility to slip into enemy defenses and slash them with rapid double strikes. Easily leaves wounds, making it highly effective when combined with blood-draining attacks.
Rune Blade
A newly added weapon type in this game. Controls two floating swords powered by spellcraft, executing acrobatic moves that sync with physical combat techniques. Excels at long-range attacks and combining with enhancement spells—its true power shines when used in combination.
Beyond these, a new legendary spell called “Absolute Execution Blade” has been revealed: it allows players to consume “Icor,” the blood absorbed from enemies, to summon special weapons for attack. Additionally, certain abilities can be activated using Icor as fuel.
An offensive spell that instantly closes the gap with enemies, unleashing a barrage of slash attacks.
A long-range spell that fires a lightning beam through enemies, capable of continuous firing as long as Icor is available.
Legendary Spell: Absolute Execution Blade
One of the “Legendary Spells” enabling players to summon special weapons for attack. It calls forth an oversized sword and delivers one powerful, devastating strike. Though it takes time to charge, once landed, it becomes a guaranteed fatal blow.
Furthermore, character customization now allows players to combine body type, hairstyle, facial features, and makeup to create a unique avatar. This installment adds new options such as adjusting body proportions and customizing clothing parts, enabling even greater pursuit of the ideal look compared to its predecessor.
