This tactical action RPG set on war-torn battlefields features gunfire and bonds—“Ground Reclaim Gun Girl RPG”—and has now introduced an exciting crossover with the renowned survival horror series, BIOHAZARD, starting September 24, 2025 (Wednesday).
In “REBORN EVIL,” players can welcome three iconic characters from the BIOHAZARD franchise: SSR character Ada Wong (CV: Junko Kanie), SSR character Jill Valentine (CV: Atsuko Yamauchi), and SR character Claire Redfield (CV: Yukari Takagi). On this BIOHAZARD collaboration, the SHIFT UP development team shared:
“This crossover was inspired by the fact that both BIOHAZARD and NIKKE are iconic in their respective genres—BIOHAZARD being synonymous with shooting games, while NIKKE also features similar combat mechanics. Despite differing worldviews, both franchises share a common strength: compelling characters—providing fertile ground for an exciting collaboration.”
The team further explained: “Beyond the intricate horror atmosphere of BIOHAZARD series, we were inspired by its storytelling techniques and narrative depth in main characters.” In integrating elements such as tragedy caused by virus spread, protagonists’ journeys of overcoming adversity, and evolving human relationships under extreme conditions into NIKKE’s world, they emphasized a central theme: “loss of humanity.”
In the event content, a defense mini-game featuring SD versions of Ada, Jill, and Claire was introduced. To recreate the horror atmosphere, features such as a flashlight effect illuminating only around characters in darkness and eerie visuals set against an old mansion were implemented. Additionally, numerous homages to original BIOHAZARD scenes—designed so that fans might exclaim “Wait… could this be from the original?”—were strategically placed throughout the event. “We’ve prepared everything—from story progression and presentation to setting—to ensure players truly feel immersed in the original game’s world,” they concluded.
