Today (October 1, 2025), Taito has released the latest information for the PC (Steam) version of Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon, scheduled to launch on November 27. The PlayStation 5 and Switch versions are also planned for release in 2026.
This title is the newest installment in Taito’s popular action game series, Bubble Bobble. Marketed as the series’ first “Step-Up Bubble Bobble,” it invites players to repeatedly challenge dungeons, collect treasures, and strengthen their character, Bubblun.
The newly unveiled feature is the massive stage known as “Castle,” where rooms are connected like a labyrinth. Unlike previous games in the series—where progressing required defeating all enemies on a stage—this Castle links multiple stages together vertically and horizontally to form one enormous interconnected area.
Moreover, this dungeon dynamically changes its structure each time players enter it, and a unique boss awaits at the deepest point. A new trailer titled “Producer Letter Vol. 3” introducing Castle has also been released—be sure to check it out.

Massive stage “Castle” unveiled
Taito Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo; hereinafter referred to as Taito) has announced new details for its upcoming action game Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon, set to release on Steam on November 27. The highlight is the massive stage called “Castle,” where rooms are interconnected like a maze.
Previously, Bubble Bobble titles featured fixed-screen gameplay with progression achieved by defeating all enemies in a level. However, this new “Castle” connects multiple stages vertically and horizontally into one enormous unified area. Navigate through it wisely—explore every corner of the castle as you journey through its twists and turns.
At the deepest point of Castle lies a unique boss. As you collect treasures within the randomly changing dungeon stages, strengthen Bubblun and upgrade your equipment to push deeper toward the heart of “Castle.”
