Tokyo Game Show 2025 has concluded. This year, I only attended the event on Saturday, September 27th, at Makuhari Messe to appear at the 4Gamer booth.
I had originally planned to visit various manufacturer booths before and after the event, but it was too crowded—I couldn’t make it to any of them. So this year, I can’t boast about “This is what TGS 2025 was like!”
Still, one thing is certain: Next year’s TGS will be held for a record five days.

When I heard that news, I thought, “Why not just do it nonstop for a week?” If it’s supposed to be a festival anyway, why not go all out? This year, with so many people attending, you can’t visit every booth you want. Waiting hours just to try one game was common. It felt like no matter how much time you had, it wasn’t enough.
But if the event lasted about a week, surely everyone could get around eventually. People might also be more spread out. Of course, the staff on-site would have an extremely tough job, and costs for staffing, equipment, etc., would definitely rise.

Still, that’s a reality we’ll face next year with five-day operations. Ultimately, it’s up to the organizers and exhibitors to figure out how to manage this. When TGS becomes a week-long event, visitors will just have to think about how they can enjoy themselves under those conditions.
Incidentally, even though I said earlier that I couldn’t talk confidently about the show, from my perspective, this year’s TGS clearly signaled its future direction—it seems like it’s firmly turning toward being a place for fun.

In fact, there wasn’t any major announcement this year on par with “a new console!” I personally see TGS as an opportunity to discover interesting games across various booths. It felt like the public has also started embracing that same spirit of discovery.
Still, this year I couldn’t visit any booths myself.

From the official announcements, it seems business meetings are becoming more active. Surprisingly, attendance on general public days was higher than last year’s.
Still, this year had more business days. It’ll be interesting to see how adding one extra day for public access next year affects things.
The number of international attendees has been rising steadily each year—this year’s influx of overseas visitors was truly massive. The trend toward increasing tourism from abroad seems likely to accelerate even further by next year.
We can’t predict global events, but I’d love to see TGS become an even more vibrant festival.

So, moving on—here’s some additional commentary about the only event I participated in this year: the stage program.
First up, I played “Exit 8” with my colleague and fellow DDT Game Club member, Yukio Nogoya, who is also a professional wrestler. The article is here.

Professional Wrestler Dino and Yukio Nogoya Challenge “Exit 8” – Can They Escape? 4Gamer Booth Stage Report [TGS2025]

On the first day of public access at Tokyo Game Show 2025 (September 27, 2025), a stage event was held at the 4Gamer.net booth featuring professional wrestler Dino and Yukio Nogoya. Nogoya made his debut playthrough of the escape horror game “Exit 8.” Could he actually make it out?

[September 27, 2025, 7:39 PM]

It was simply fun.
Now that I think about it, “Exit 8” is really well-suited for streaming—perfect for sharing time with many people. Roughly speaking, it’s a spot-the-difference game: very easy to understand.
On the event side, it was great having a young participant join in. Thank you, kid.

On September 27, 2025, a stage event for “LET IT DIE: INFERNO,” set to release on December 4 by GungHo, was held at the 4Gamer booth during Tokyo Game Show 2025. The game’s director, Hideo Shinko, delivered a presentation including live gameplay.

Yukio actually played the game, and it was satisfying as an action title—really fun to watch, with a great hack-and-slash element.
By the way, I voiced a character in the previous installment—I participated as a voice actor. But this time, I wasn’t called upon… I wonder why?

Finally, we had Toshikazu Matsumoto, General Supervisor of “Fire Pro Wrestling World” (PC / PS4), join us to talk about the third and latest “support campaign DLC” released on a surprise basis on September 3.

Toshikazu Matsumoto of “Fire Pro W” Shares Story Behind Charity DLC #3 – Sends Warm Words to Injured Wrestler Yosuke Takayama [TGS2025]

Reporting from the “Fire Pro Wrestling World” stage event at the 4Gamer booth during Tokyo Game Show 2025. Spike Chunsoft’s Toshikazu Matsumoto shared an episode about creating the third charity DLC in support of professional wrestler Yosuke Takayama, currently undergoing rehabilitation after injury.

[September 28, 2025, 8:54 PM]

For me, Takayama-san is still a tag team partner—there’s strong personal ties there, and I’m also a diehard Fire Pro fan. Honestly, I might as well say I came all the way to Makuhari just for this event. This time around, I really felt like I was in my element.
Wrestlers are tough—you know what I mean? Their lifestyle shows it. Takayama-san continues proving that from his hospital bed.
It was precisely Takayama’s spirit that moved Matsumoto and inspired the team behind Fire Pro to act—and this single DLC alone raised over 13 million yen in donations. This event wasn’t just about a game—it truly conveyed Matsumoto’s life philosophy and heartfelt passion.

So, this year’s TGS has come to a close. Even though I only participated in one day’s worth of stage events, I still felt like I glimpsed the future of gaming.
After all, games are fun—no need for anything deeper than that. If meaning exists beyond that, it’s something each person adds individually. The fact that games can bring happiness is priceless.

I hope next year, and the year after that, this place continues to be a space where we can feel the joy of gaming. Let’s meet again next year!
Anyway, since this column will continue, see you again next week.

DDT Pro-Wrestling, where Dino is based, will hold the “Echigo Chin Klasher” event at Niigata East Plaza on Sunday, October 5th, starting at 1:00 PM. Dino will team up with Super Sasa Dango Machine to face MAO and KANON featuring KIMIHIRO. According to Dino, “Lately I feel like we’ve been fighting these two a lot—sometimes it seems like people think I’m the one who brings out KANON’s cuteness. That part kind of bothers me. So this time, maybe I’ll deliberately ignore her!”
