Infinite Loop today (October 2, 2025) announced that the new DLC for its PC software, [Desktop Mate], titled “NieR:Automata YoRHa No.2 Type B,” will be released on Steam on October 9, priced at 2,200 yen (tax included).

This DLC features “2B,” the main character from the 2017 game “NieR:Automata” (available on PC / PS4), appearing directly on your desktop.

Players can freely switch between Japanese voice (voice actress: Yui Ishikawa) and English voice (voice actor: Kira Buckland), enjoying authentic voice clips extracted from the original game. Additionally, when certain motions are triggered, her support unit “Pod 042” will also appear on screen.

Furthermore, upon triggering a specific motion, her outfit changes—allowing players to enjoy various other motions while in this new costume.

The motion capture for 2B is once again handled by Kao Kawabuchi, the same artist responsible for the original game’s animations.

This DLC brings the beloved protagonist of NieR:Automata, 2B, to your desktop. The product features a language switch function allowing players to enjoy either Japanese (CV: Yui Ishikawa) or English (CV: Kira Buckland) voice lines from the original game. As in the original title, motion capture for 2B was again performed by Kao Kawabuchi.
