Over the course of two days, August 16th and 17th, 2025, Donuts’ fan-pleasing rhythm game “BLACK STAR -Theater Starless-” (available on iOS / Android, hereafter referred to as “Blasta”) hosted its event “BLACK PARTY” at the Edogawa Ward Comprehensive Cultural Center in Tokyo.
This performance was a gala concert-style stage production based on the story of Blastar’s sixth-anniversary release, themed around “a festival of gratitude.” It combined recitation and song in an immersive storytelling format.
This article will cover Day 1 centered on teams K, C, and B, followed by Day 2 focusing on teams W and P.

DAY 1: Team K/C/B’s Gratitude Stage – Unexpected Trouble Strikes the Cast?
Set in a quiet corner of the bustling city lies “Theater Starless,” a show restaurant. The first to appear were the theater’s owner, Hayaseyama (voice actor: Kenji Fukuda), and staff member Operation (voice actor: Shohei Ota).
The two announced important notices for attendees at the gratitude festival “BLACK PARTY,” starting with a comedic exchange reminiscent of a stand-up routine that immediately drew laughter from the audience.
Next, the entire cast—voice actors, singers, and dancers—emerged onto a stage bathed in dazzling light. Each time a voice actor delivered a line fitting their character, thunderous applause erupted from the audience.
With the announcement of the gratitude stage’s opening, dancers performed to “BLACK PARTY”’s theme music, enveloping the venue in enthusiastic cheers and applause.
The first recitation segment began with a backstage conversation between Akira (voice actor: Koji Okino) and Daima (voice actor: Keito Akiya). They discussed Kei, who had not shown up for the gratitude festival despite repeated attempts to contact him.

Meanwhile on stage, Sotetsu (voice actor: Ryota Takeuchi), Yoshino (voice actor: Takashi Tamaru), Riko (voice actor: Jin Ogasawara), Mokuren (voice actor: Mitsuki Saijo), and Zakuro (voice actor: Yusuke Shiraishi) welcomed the audience at Theater Starless.

This year’s gratitude stage was titled “BLACK APPEAL,” with Day 1 featuring performances by Team K, Team B, and Team C. The concept involved selecting iconic scenes from past shows and having team-exclusive cast members reenact them before transitioning into live performances—this unique format being a hallmark of the gala concert style.
The opening act was Team K’s performance based on Dazai Osamu’s “Run, Melos!” titled “Sky’s the Limit!” Sotetsu (playing Melos) delivered an unusually relaxed and carefree portrayal, suggesting he might have been tempted to betray his friend, Silver Star—this subtle realism resonating deeply with fans. Meanwhile, Yoshino gave a chillingly cold and commanding performance unlike his usual style, creating a striking contrast that became a highlight.
From there, the stage seamlessly transitioned into singing mode. Yoshino (Singer: Takashi Saito [Academic BANANA]) delivered a powerful rendition of “Sky’s the Limit!”, followed by Silver Star (Image Dancer: Imustat Jun), Sotetsu (Image Danger: J), and Gii (Image Dancer: Ryunosuke) performing an exhilarating aerial act. The smooth flow from recitation to live performance made it feel as though the audience was experiencing a real Theater Starless show in person—tension mounting with every moment.

Next came Team C’s performance, based on Wagner’s opera “The Flying Dutchman,” titled “Eternal Love.” Mokuren (playing the captain) had no lines in his original debut role, so this gratitude festival featured a special version. Zakuro (playing the servant), who voiced some hesitation about performing, was reassured by Kuu and Kasumi saying that “Mokuren can do it if he tries,” bringing laughter from the audience.
The stage presentation reached remarkable completion, with Team C’s dancers—Kuu (Image Dancer: Rito), Glass (Image Dancer: Takuto Yamazaki), and Kasumi (Image Dancer: PASSION)—delivering elegant, seductive performances that mirrored the opera’s title. The turbulent sea and the Dutchman’s inner turmoil over Zenda were vividly portrayed. Zakuro (Singer: Shakemi) delivered a powerful rendition of “Eternal Love.”

The final act of the day, Team B’s performance, was a bold reimagining of the fairy tale “Thumbelina,” titled “Bakabakka!” In this version, Riko portrayed one of the suitors pursuing Thumbelina.
As it was a solo performance, fellow cast members expressed concern—“Are you okay?” But Riko’s sweet lines were spot-on. With his voice, Shima (Image Dancer: SHIMa) joined in with an equally enchanting dance to match.
Riko (voice actor: Jin Ogasawara) delivered a confident performance before seamlessly transitioning into “Bakabakka!”, where Heath (MC: Takuya IDE), Mizuki (Image Dancer: Tanuki), Kongou (Image Dancer: TAKAHIRO), and Aoi (Image Dancer: Ryuhō) joined in, dancing with wild energy. The sheer intensity of the performance left audiences stunned—pure Team B passion that made viewers shout “So cool!”

The performance continued into the live segment. Yohko (Singer: Akito Matsumoto) delivered powerful renditions of “Blaze Out My Sins” and “FORT/TUDE.”
Meanwhile, Ao (Singer: SHIN) mesmerized the audience with an eerie yet captivating presence through his performances of “silly and absurd” and “VAPORIZE,” instantly immersing everyone in Team C’s world.

Then came the dreamy yet enchanting “Drowning Butterfly” by Zakuro (Singer: Shakemi), followed by Heath’s relentlessly aggressive “Eclipse” (MC: Takuya IDE), and finally, Yoshino’s sweet high notes in “The Final Problem” (Singer: Takashi Saito [Academic BANANA]), raising the audience heat to new heights.
At this point, Hayaseyama (voice actor: Kenji Fukuda) and Operation (voice actor: Shohei Ota) returned. They expressed concern over Kei’s absence and speculated that Team W might have gone searching for him—hinting at a possible incident involving the heroine, creating palpable tension.
The spotlight shifted back to stage. Zakuro (Singer: Shakemi) and Ao (Singer: SHIN) performed “Silence of Night,” followed by Yoshino (Singer: Takashi Saito [Academic BANANA]) and Yohko (Singer: Akito Matsumoto) with “Twilight Flower.” As all dancers appeared, the intro to “Night xo bird” played—when suddenly, music began glitching.
The cast immediately gathered backstage in panic, discussing how to handle the emergency. They faced three simultaneous challenges: keeping the show entertaining, fixing sound and lighting issues, and locating Kei—who was still missing.
Eventually, dancers ran through the audience, performing brilliantly to a glitchy remix of Blastar’s music—masterfully bridging the gap while system recovery was completed.
After restart, Yohko (Singer: Akito Matsumoto) led “Night xo bird,” with all performers dancing wildly. Then Yoshino (Singer: Takashi Saito [Academic BANANA]) delivered “Blooming in Darkness,” followed immediately by Heath (MC: Takuya IDE) performing the intense dance and vocals of “Kill ‘Em ALL” and “BOOOOONE,” sending the venue into a fever pitch—the hottest moment of the day.
The cast finally finished the stage, sighing in relief. They began discussing what might have caused the system failure—wondering aloud if it could have been intentional sabotage. At that moment, a call came from Kyou (voice only: Takashi Konno), revealing Kei’s whereabouts.
Day 1’s main event concluded with three anniversary songs: Team C’s “World End,” Team B’s “What’s the B-boy?”, and Team K’s “Promise is Forever.”
For encore, Ao (Singer: SHIN) opened with “Lover Returning to the Sea.” Then came a surprise—Operation (voice actor: Shohei Ota) sang “What a Wonderful Rainy Day,” earning thunderous applause.
The day ended on a high note when the cast returned to stage after announcing the release of “BLACK DOCUMENT from BLACK PARTY,” featuring behind-the-scenes footage, and collectively sang “Too Bad.”
DAY 2: Team W & P’s Stage – Can the Event Succeed Without Kei?
Day 2 kicked off again with Hayaseyama (voice actor: Kenji Fukuda) and Operation (voice actor: Shohei Ota) engaging in their usual playful banter. After the performers took the stage, the audience erupted into cheers and applause.
The recitation began with a conversation between Mokuren (voice actor: Mitsuki Saijo) and Riko (voice actor: Jin Ogasawara), who were scouting the area. Talking about yesterday’s incident, Mokuren received a call from Kei (voice only: Satoshi Hino).
Kei claimed to have found the culprit behind the sound-and-light malfunction and ordered them not to ruin the stage for the heroine—specifically instructing them to destroy the “relay device.” Mokuren then entrusted Team K, C, and B members—who weren’t on duty today—with this task.
Meanwhile, on stage, Akira (voice actor: Kozi Okino), Maika (voice actor: Ayumi Murase), Shinni (voice actor: Ryota Oosaka), and Heath (voice actor: Takuya Ide) entertained the audience with lively banter, further warming up the crowd.

On Day 2, Teams W and P took center stage. Just like Day 1, they performed a selected scene from their respective shows before revealing their main songs in the “BLACK APPEAL” format. Additionally, per Mokuren’s instruction, Heath would also participate in Team B’s BLACK APPEAL.
Team W opened with “N.S.D.A.”, inspired by Alexander the Great. The performance featured Akira (playing King Polos) delivering a solo monologue—his commanding presence so overwhelming that audiences couldn’t help but bow before him.
Then, following seamlessly, Akira (Singer: Takuya Kobayashi) performed “N.S.D.A.”, instantly transporting the audience into the stage’s world. Black Obsidian (Image Dancer: Taiichi), dancer Shin (Image Dancer: MITSU), Takeru (Image Dancer: Rito), and Daima (Image Dancer: Tanuki) danced with explosive energy—leaving spectators stunned, wondering if they’d ever experienced such intensity at a Theater Starless show.

Next was Team P’s performance based on the opera “Andrea Chénier,” titled “Helpless Hope.” It featured Maika as Chenier and Shinni as his close friend Louise.
The romantic story of characters swept up by turbulent times unfolded vividly, drawing everyone into its world. Then came Maika (Singer: Kradness) delivering “Helpless Hope,” enhanced by the powerful performances of Menou (Image Dancer: choro) and Nekome (Image Dancer: SHIMa), creating an emotionally gripping atmosphere that deeply moved the audience.

Team B followed with Heath performing “Eclipse,” based on Shakespeare’s “Macbeth.” This song, long regarded as one of the most memorable “incidents” in Theater Starless and Blastar history, exploded into life—Heath (playing the hidden figure) poured out his inner turmoil through the same track performed by Heath (MC: Takuya IDE), completely dominating the venue. It was a performance so powerful that it left audiences breathless every time.
Just like Day 1, the stage then transitioned to live performances. Rindou (Singer: Ajikko) appeared and delivered beautiful, smooth renditions of “The Sun is Here” and “Never My Love,” wrapping the entire audience in shimmering emotion with her gentle voice and P-style performance.
Then came Shinni (Singer: Stan-Gan) with powerful renditions of “Violet” and “One-Winged Dragon,” drawing audiences in with her direct, emotionally charged voice.
Next, Maika (Singer: Kradness) delivered the explosive high notes of “aka, aka,” creating a refreshing wave that pulled in performers from other teams—just like a mixed-team track—and energized the entire atmosphere.
But just as the mood turned light, Akira (Singer: Takuya Kobayashi) dropped “Shooooout!!!”, shattering the calm with intense sound and performance. The audience waved their glow sticks wildly, swept into a frenzy of excitement.
The scene shifted backstage. Operation (voice actor: Shohei Ota), Mokuren (voice actor: Mitsuki Saijo), Heath (voice actor: Takuya Ide), and Riko (voice actor: Jin Ogasawara) gathered. They reported that Mizuki and Silver Star had already destroyed the “relay device” as instructed by Kei. Everyone sighed in relief—only to jokingly wonder, “If we say things like this, won’t we trigger a flag?” (Which ironically was the flag…!).
Meanwhile on stage, Akira (Singer: Takuya Kobayashi) passionately sang “Moon Flower” and “Oh my Pollyanna!”, shifting the mood entirely. As “The Die is Cast” began—suddenly again, music glitched.
Backstage, the cast exchanged worried glances: “The trouble should’ve been fixed by now…” Then Kei called again—this time ordering them to keep going with the festival. The entire Theater Starless crew mobilized in full force.
While some kept the stage lively and others rushed to fix the system, dancers continued performing intensely, determined not to let the audience notice anything amiss. Though normally not known for being close-knit, the cast displayed an unexpected unity at this moment—touching hearts with their solidarity.
After tireless effort, they managed to restart the show. Shinni (Singer: Stan-Gan) performed “The Die is Cast” alongside all performers. Then came Rindou (Singer: Ajikko) and Menou (Image Dancer: choro) delivering a stunning synchronized dance in “BELOVED,” followed by Maika (Singer: Kradness), joining Nekome (Image Dancer: SHIMa) for “The Road Home Across the Stars.”
Finally, all three—Shinni, Rindou, and Maika—delivered a breathtaking harmony in “Beyond the Rainbow” and “End of Flash,” overwhelming the audience.
The scene returned backstage. Hayaseyama (voice actor: Kenji Fukuda) was in high spirits, creating a tense atmosphere among the crew. The stage had reached unprecedented energy—the culmination of everyone’s all-out effort.
Team W and Team P members united with one goal: to raise the final stretch of gratitude festival excitement. They closed the main program with Team P’s “One Green Flower Fades Away” and Team W’s “The Death God’s Decision.”
Responding to thunderous applause, the encore began again. Following “Destiny’s Whisper” (Team P song, Singer: Kradness) and “Serenity’s Call” (Team W song, Singer: Takuya Kobayashi), Day 2 also featured Operation (voice actor: Shohei Ota) performing “My Starless Show,” earning another round of massive applause.
The final talk segment featured Day 2’s singers: Takuya Kobayashi, Kradness, Stan-Gan, and Ajikko. They announced two upcoming events: “BLACK PARTY After-Event” in October 2025 and the “BLACK LIVE Show of Starless” scheduled for January 2026—sending shockwaves of excitement through the audience.
Finally, to close the event, everyone performed “BLACKSTAR.” With passionate singing by the vocalists and Takuya Ota, all cast members gathered on stage as the crowd joined in. In a moment of unity, the two-day gratitude festival concluded with explosive joy.
