Amazon has announced that its cloud gaming service, “Amazon Luna,” will undergo a full renovation starting in the second half of 2025, following a regional rollout that began earlier. The service allows users to enjoy games without needing home consoles or gaming PCs.
Although plans are underway to expand into 14 countries, it remains unclear whether Japan will be included.

According to Amazon, about 3 billion people worldwide play games—but only a small fraction own home consoles or gaming PCs, representing hundreds of millions. Most players use smartphones, and as a result, the shared experience of playing large-screen games together with family and friends in living rooms has been lost.
This is where Amazon Luna comes in. A standout feature is “GameNight,” a party game collection designed for home environments that lets users turn their smartphone into a controller and join instantly by scanning a QR code. The party games also incorporate new technologies, such as AI-powered courtroom-style games.
Additionally, streaming of indie games and major titles is also planned. This will require a controller.
In conjunction with this announcement, Prime Gaming—Amazon’s Twitch-based membership service—is set to become part of Amazon Luna. However, there will be no changes to existing Twitch perks: monthly free subscriptions, emote packs, chat colors, and badges will continue as before.

That said, no changes are being made to Prime perks on Twitch. You’ll still have your free monthly channel sub, emote sets, chat colors & badge ?
