The new title “Nobunaga’s Ambition: Shin Sen” (available on iOS / Android), currently accepting pre-registration, is being showcased at the Qookka Entertainment booth at Tokyo Game Show 2025, which opened on September 25, 2025.

This title is the second installment in the “Shin Sen” series, following the global download milestone of over 100 million for “Three Kingdoms: Shin Sen.” Developed by Qookka Entertainment under an official license from Koei Tecmo Games’ “Nobunaga’s Ambition: Shinsen,” it fuses RPG elements into the core gameplay system of the “Shin Sen” series, creating a unique SLG×RPG experience. While full demo playthroughs are not available—possibly because this isn’t a game designed for short bursts of fun—the booth features a dedicated corner where visitors can try out four mini-games planned for inclusion in the final release.

During my visit, a spontaneous stage event was taking place where attendees could join and challenge the mini-games on the spot. The booth is designed to be welcoming and easy for anyone to enjoy—here’s how it went.

Simple, but deceptively tough mini-games

Four different mini-games are available at the booth. Each has five difficulty levels ranging from Lv. 1 to Lv. 5.

● Cavalry

Use the pad displayed in the lower-left corner of the screen to control a galloping horse, avoiding barriers and aiming for completion. Hitting a barrier reduces your stamina; when it reaches zero, the game ends.

The cavalry movement doesn’t respond instantly, so keeping an eye on what’s ahead while maintaining smooth, relaxed controls is key.

● Arithmetic

This game requires distributing various colored supplies to match the needs of each region. The icons on the edges of hexagonal tiles indicate the total demand for that column, so you must satisfy all demands simultaneously.

It starts off simple, but as more tiles appear, it quickly becomes tricky—balancing one area often disrupts another. Particularly at Lv. 4 and above, this puzzle will really test your brainpower.

● Blacksmithing

A game centered on a blacksmith, where you must strike “Keramas” (metal blocks) that resemble raw iron. Hitting a golden-hot Kerama earns points—but striking one with cracks results in point loss.

The speed required is intense, so using multiple fingers is essential. Successfully completing strikes triggers “Focus Mode,” during which only normal tiles appear at even faster speeds—perfect for getting truly immersed.

● Construction

A puzzle game where you must fit various-shaped building materials into a designated space without any gaps. As the difficulty level increases, the available area grows larger—making it easy to fall into the trap of thinking “this should work” only to realize later that something’s off.

While photos in this article might make arithmetic and construction games seem easy, actual play at the event reveals a different story. The lively atmosphere and surrounding attention can easily cause you to panic—so stay focused! If you’re confident in your skills, don’t hesitate to give it a try.

At the Qookka Entertainment booth, additional events are planned, including a special stage featuring Higuma Umi and photo sessions with cosplayers. Participating in the stamp rally by following their official X account or completing pre-registration for this title will earn you various collectible souvenirs—definitely worth checking out.
