The GeeSports Expo Executive Committee announced today (October 2, 2025) the launch of the official website for senior e-sports “GeeSports.”
The committee aims to address challenges posed by an aging society through entertainment-based initiatives. By developing games and hosting events that can be enjoyed regardless of age-related physical decline, GeeSports seeks to create new sources of purpose and motivation in older adults.
Additionally, the official project website features a dedicated game for GeeSports: “Gerogue (Jeroog).”
This title is an action shooter combined with robot battle gameplay set on a devastated future Earth. It follows the story of people called “Gerogue,” who pilot units to fight for the planet’s future. The controls are simple, using only direction keys and two buttons; one key point emphasized in gameplay is simultaneous button presses between teammates when performing combo attacks or special moves.
Furthermore, on October 1st—International Day of Older Persons—the “GeeSports Tournament” was held at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo. Six teams composed of players aged 65 and above participated, totaling 22 competitors, with intense matches taking place.
