"Warframe" to Implement Update "Undermind of the Ravine" on October 16, with Cinematic Quest "Master" Scheduled for Early Game Addition

Digital Extremes has announced that the online TPS “Warframe” (available on PC/Nintendo Switch 2/PS5/Xbox Series X|S/Nintendo Switch/PS4/Xbox One/iOS) will receive its “Undermind of the Ravine” update on October 16, 2025.
This update will introduce an introductory cinematic quest titled “Mentor,” where players learn the Warframe gear Mod system under Teshin’s guidance. This quest becomes available after completing the main story quest, Vor’s Prize. The addition of Mentor aims to make starting the game smoother for new players. Completing the quest rewards players with a new weapon: the Thornbak Rifle.
Additionally, Warframe #62, Nokko, will be introduced.
Nokko fights using various mushrooms—throwing toxic spore bombs, cultivating defensive pulsating fungi, transforming into a small Sprodling for rapid healing and spreading sleep-inducing spores, or launching mushroom projectiles that bounce and explode.

“Undermind of the Ravine” arrives on October 16The next update for this 12-year-running sci-fi epic brings a new quest for beginners, Warframe #62, fresh tilesets and missions, long-awaited gameplay improvements, cosmetics, and a limited-time Halloween event.
Digital Extremes unveiled “Undermind of the Ravine” during their Warframe Devstream. The update will be released for free across all platforms on Thursday, October 16. New and returning players can experience an immersive introductory cinematic quest called Mentor, explore a host of new content including Nokko—the 62nd Warframe themed around mushrooms—and discover new bounties and story elements in the new environment Deepmind. Additionally, Oberon receives a rework, new Deluxe Skins for Wukong and Lavos are added, as well as customizable features to TennoGen. Players who log in between October 16 at 00:00 JST and October 22 at 23:59 JST will receive the base version of Oberon for free.

Introductory Cinematic Quest: “Mentor”
- Developed in collaboration with Sumo Digital, this quest has players learn the Warframe Mod system under Teshin’s guidance. Accessible after completing Vor’s Prize, it features pivotal story moments through customization challenges and combat scenarios that cannot be bypassed without adjusting your loadout.
- The introduction of Mentor streamlines onboarding for new players while enriching the existing Warframe universe for returning players.
- Upon completion, players receive the new weapon: Thornbak Rifle. This quest is single-player only and can only be played once.
62nd Warframe: Nokko
- Residents of Fortuna describe Nokko as youthful, playful, and mushroom-themed—like a younger brother to Yareli.
- In combat, Nokko can throw toxic spore mushrooms, grow defensive pulsating fungi, transform into a small Sprodling for rapid healing while scattering sleep-inducing spores, or launch bouncing mushroom projectiles that explode on impact.
- Can be unlocked for free by collecting blueprints and materials through Nightcap bounties—or instantly via Platinum in the Warframe Marketplace.
New Environment: Deepmind
- Deepmind is a new underground area beneath Fortuna, covered entirely in mushrooms. Here players encounter the new bounty vendor, Nightcap. Brave explorers will face Corpus scientists driven by reckless experiments.
- Completing bounties and uncovering hidden mushrooms allows players to fill out Nightcap’s Collection Log and earn Fergolyte. This material is desired by the eerie mushroom known as The Prince—providing it triggers further growth and unlocks the story arc Visions.
- Playing through Visions reveals lore about Deepmines, Nightcap, and Nokko’s history.
- Deepmines and Nightcap become available after completing the quest The New War.
Oberon’s Rework & New Protoframe Lore

- The popular Warframe Oberon receives a full rework, featuring new passive effects, improved healing and support abilities, and enhanced damage from the Reckoning ability.
- Players who log in between October 15–21 will receive Oberon for free.
- Additionally, a brand-new Protoframe Lore video was released. The voice of Rene Zagger, known for his role as Emet-Selch in Final Fantasy XIV, lends his voice to this content. This is the first Orokin Protoframe, cursed with a transformation that will eventually turn it into Uriel, the Warframe themed around the demons featured in The Devil’s Triad.
New Cosmetics & Seasonal Events

- New Deluxe Skins are added for Lavos and Wukong, available in the Warframe Marketplace.
- Six new cosmetics (skins, helmets, shandanas) launch via TennoGen.
- The annual event Nights of Naberus returns this year with new cosmetics, and the special vendor Baro Ki’Teer offers limited-time items and fresh dialogue.
- In Nightwave Vol.10, players can earn Halloween-themed rewards by completing daily, weekly, and permanent challenges.
- Digital Extremes is participating in its annual charity campaign, Quest to Conquer Cancer (questtoconquercancer.com). Donations unlock exclusive cosmetics, including the popular Zephyr Conquera skin.
