Today (September 28, 2025), Capcom held a special stage event at the “Tokyo Game Show 2025” being held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture, unveiling new updates for its smartphone app Monster Hunter Now (iOS / Android).
The stage featured comedian Za Tatchi, Capcom Producer Genki Sunano, and Niantic Producer Yui Makiya, who revealed a variety of new information.

First, it was announced that a new major monster, the Tigarrex Subspecies, will be implemented starting October 27. The Tigarrex Subspecies is an individual with intensified roars compared to its regular form, and its weak points are Water and Dragon elements.
At the venue, a challenge hunt was held against the ★8 Tigarrex Subspecies and the ★9 Dimensional Variant Evil Jaw. Players including those at level 400 participated but struggled against the monster’s two consecutive roars, eventually succeeding only after reducing difficulty.

Additionally, bow style enhancements will be implemented in October, while a new Ancient Dragon species, Mel Zena, is scheduled for release in November. In March 2026, the Insect Glaive weapon will also be added. Details about Mel Zena will be revealed again around mid-October.
Other planned updates include easing material requirements and improving crafting systems.
