Sega has announced today (September 28, 2025) that the open beta test for its upcoming fighting game Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage—set for release on October 30, 2025, on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S—will run from October 2, 2025, at 12:00 PM to October 7, 2025, at 11:59 AM (JST).
The open beta test will be accessible without requiring a subscription to any platform’s online service, nor does it require registration for a “Sega Account.”
Additionally, the test is expected to support arcade stick-style controllers officially licensed as PlayStation 4 products.
Furthermore, a special sale on Steam will run from September 30 to October 7, offering a 30% discount on the standard version of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. and a 35% discount on the 30th Anniversary Edition. Owners of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. will automatically upgrade to Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage starting October 30.
Additionally, a new promotional video has been released introducing the game’s brand-new single-player mode, “World Stage.” This mode allows players to battle through various tournaments held around the world and aim for global supremacy.

Sega Corporation is pleased to announce that the open beta test for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage, set for release on October 30, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam), will take place from October 2, 2025 (Thursday) to October 7, 2025 (Tuesday).
The open beta test is available without requiring a subscription to any platform’s online service or registration for a “Sega Account.”

The Global Finals of the VIRTUA FIGHTER Open Championship, featuring qualifiers from around the world, will be held on March 1, 2026 (Sunday) at TOKYO NODE in Hanzomon Hills, Tokyo.

New Comic Project for the “Virtua Fighter” Series Launches!
A new vertical-scrolling comic project for the Virtua Fighter series is now launching. The title of the comic is “The Summer at 14 Years and 3 Months – I Was Sent Back to 1995, Went to an Arcade, and Burst Into Tears: Virtua Fighter Sisters.” Character design will be handled by Kanako Hirayama, known for her work on Pushimo no Ko, while the scenario is written by Yoriko Toda, creator of High Score Girl.
The comic will be released under ZETooN (Zettoon), a new full-color vertical-scrolling entertainment label. Be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming news!
