NetMarble today (September 26, 2025) released the third episode of its “Developer Commentary Video” for RF Online Next (PC / iOS / Android).
This game is a sequel to “RF Online,” which previously had service in Japan, and is an MMORPG set against the vast backdrop of space. It is scheduled for release on September 30.
In this third installment, the video discusses the game’s monetization system and global service strategy.
Development Director Hong Gwan-min stated that farming (hunting and resource gathering) forms the foundation of long-term enjoyment in MMORPGs, clarifying that major battlefield items—MAU, Launcher, and Animus—are obtainable through gameplay rather than paid purchases.
Essential items critical for progression can all be acquired through crafting, hunting, raids, and other activities. Most items will not only be available on the marketplace but also allow direct one-on-one trading between players.
Additionally, a guild auction system has been implemented to ensure smooth distribution of rewards by publicly sharing information such as participants in content, obtained items, auction progress, and profit allocation—enhancing fairness and convenience.
Furthermore, NetMarble introduced its “Heavenly System,” which guarantees acquisition of goods upon reaching specific spending thresholds for randomized gacha mechanics. By incorporating legendary-tier rewards into this system, the barrier to entry for paying players is lowered. The game also features a feedback mechanism regarding in-game purchases and diamond consumption, ensuring players receive satisfactory results.
Other operational strengths highlighted include rapid patch deployment and AI-powered detection of fraudulent accounts—both proven successful during operations in South Korea. NetMarble emphasized its commitment to maintaining this level of stability globally by providing equal access to information across all regions through YouTube guides, community forums, and official social media channels.

In the video, Development Director Hong Gwan-min revealed that “farming—such as hunting and resource gathering—is fundamental to long-term enjoyment in MMORPGs. Major battlefield items like MAU, Launcher, and Animus can be obtained through gameplay rather than paid purchases.” These key items are distributed across all level ranges, ensuring players at every stage of progression feel meaningful growth.
To support cooperative play, RF Online Next features a transparent guild auction system that streamlines loot distribution and prevents disputes. Core items are also accessible via hunting, raids, crafting, and can be traded directly between players—enhancing the thrill of discovery and collaboration through marketplaces and peer-to-peer transactions.
On monetization, NetMarble announced its adoption of a “Guaranteed Reward System,” allowing players to secure legendary-tier rewards with certainty. This ensures high satisfaction and transparent growth experiences for all players.
Additionally, on service operations, the company highlighted proven stability from South Korea’s successful operation—such as rapid patch deployment and AI-based detection of fraudulent accounts. These strengths will be extended globally, alongside a commitment to equal information access across regions through YouTube guides, community forums, and official social media channels.
Finally, Hong Gwan-min said: “RF ONLINE NEXT was developed with stability, fairness, and long-lasting gameplay in mind. Moving forward, we will continue listening closely to player feedback and strive to deliver trustworthy service.”
RF Online Next is the official sequel to RF Online, which has amassed over 20 million players across 54 global regions. Set against an expansive cosmic stage, this next-generation MMORPG unfolds in a future where machines surpass human bodies. Players must survive in a chaotic era defined by the clash of life and death, hope and despair.
The game features a free class-change system that eliminates the need for respecs, enabling players to freely switch among six classes using customizable “Bio-Suits” for flexible and diverse combat styles. Additionally, players can summon and command powerful weapons such as the piloted MAU, launch-type Launcher, and the overwhelmingly dominant divine machine Animus—enabling strategic battles that shift in real time. The game also introduces flight-based action mechanics, delivering an unprecedented sense of three-dimensional warfare and dynamism.
