The gamer-focused brand MOJHON exhibited at Tokyo Game Show 2025, showcasing its new gamepad, the Rainbow 3. A standout feature is its body with vibrant LED illumination and analog sticks equipped with capacitive sensors.

While some may not recognize the MOJHON brand, it is actually a rebranded version of BIGBIG WON, which exhibited at Tokyo Game Show 2024. The gamepads previously shown under the BIGBIG WON name—“BLITZ 2” and “BLITZ2 TMR”—have gained popularity and are widely used by e-sports players.

The BIGBIG WON booth (Hall 9 E-10) at Tokyo Game Show 2024 featured the latest models: gamepads “BLITZ2” and “BLITZ2 TMR”, marking their first appearance at TGS. On September 28th and 29th, a “BIGBIGWON Prize Campaign” was held, offering attendees a chance to obtain the “BLITZ2” before its official release.

As mentioned earlier, the key feature of Rainbow 3 is its use of capacitive sticks on both left and right analog joysticks. This represents a next-generation joystick technology following TMR (Tunneling Magnetoresistance) sticks used in the BLITZ2 TMR model—few standalone gamepads currently adopt this type. To my knowledge, only two such products exist.

Additionally, several handheld gaming PCs like the AOKZOE A1X and GPD WIN 5 already use capacitive joysticks, suggesting more models will likely follow in the future.

Capacitive sticks detect input by measuring changes in capacitance between electrodes rather than relying on physical contact. This prevents wear on contacts and reduces drift—a common issue with analog joysticks.

Moreover, capacitive sticks reportedly achieve higher resolution than traditional ones. The Rainbow 3’s stick has a resolution of 8000, nearly double that of the BLITZ2 TMR. Input latency is as low as 0.5ms.

When switching between using Rainbow 3 and BLITZ2 TMR, there’s a noticeable difference in feel—difficult to describe but clearly distinct. When asked about this sensation at the booth, the staff replied: “Yes, it’s strange—but not negatively so. It’s a positive kind of strangeness. You probably felt that too?”

The actual tactile experience while using the sticks is excellent; tilting feels smoother and more fluid compared to conventional joysticks.

Both upper side and rear surfaces feature two additional buttons each. The upper-side extra shoulder buttons are slightly recessed, so depending on grip style, they might interfere with shoulder or trigger buttons—likely a matter of personal preference.

Buttons continue to use the clicky mechanical micro-switches found in the BLITZ2 series, and like previous models, they feature a shorter key travel optimized for e-sports titles.

In time, we can expect more products adopting capacitive sticks similar to how TMR sticks have gained traction. Gamers eager to try the latest analog stick technology should definitely check out the Rainbow 3.
