On September 28, 2025, at the 4Gamer booth during Tokyo Game Show 2025, a stage event was held for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, currently available from Sega. The game is playable on PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X|S / Nintendo Switch / PS4 / Xbox One. The event featured appearances by Producer Takashi Ryōichi and Creative Director Kobayakawa Ken, who introduced the game and demonstrated gameplay using its “Race Park” mode.

This game, titled “CrossWorlds,” is a racing title where various worlds intersect. The race consists of three laps; at the entrance of the second lap lies a “Travel Ring” that, when passed through, warps players to another world, resulting in an entirely different course than the first lap. On the third lap, although the track returns to match the first lap’s layout, items are rearranged and shortcuts become available, progressively increasing excitement with each lap.

Players can customize their vehicles in numerous ways, including changing paint schemes and swapping front and rear parts. Additionally, players may apply stickers from real-world companies through collaboration.

At the venue, a live demonstration of the “Race Park” mode was presented. This mode supports up to four players simultaneously in local split-screen play. Beyond individual competition, it allows for multiplayer matches with teams composed of up to four characters—including AI-controlled ones.

Several types of team battles are available. For this event, a match rule was used where teams earned bonus points for the most “touches.” A key feature of these team races is that teammates are connected via a “Team Band,” and touching allies triggers a “Touch Dash” effect. Additionally, the faster the top teammate moves, the greater the speed boost for their teammates.

After individual warm-up races, a team match took place between teams from Sega, 4Gamer, and an AI-only group. With no room for favoritism, the two newcomers—Kōsuke and Orecchi—could not overcome the experienced Sega duo. As expected, the 4Gamer team finished last in race time, despite hoping to gain points through touches.

In the second team match, all four speakers formed one group across company lines. Although 4Gamer’s two participants often hindered progress, Sega’s two members skillfully led their team to a first-place victory.
