Independent game creator MASH POTATO announced today (September 29, 2025) that the PC demo version of his upcoming action game “UNIVERSE SLIME” (available on PC / PS5) will be released on Steam on October 2.

UNIVERSE SLIME is a destruction action game set on Earth moments before it’s swallowed by the collapse of the Sun’s gravity. Players guide a slime that grows stronger by destroying and consuming everything in its path. Initially capable only of swallowing small objects, the slime gradually expands in size by demolishing cities and buildings—eventually gaining the ability to devour homes and skyscrapers. The ultimate goal is for it to grow large enough to consume the Sun itself, becoming a new star that saves the solar system.

The demo includes an opening prologue told from a human perspective, just before the slime appears on Earth, as well as a destruction demonstration where entire buildings can be demolished at once. Players will experience key gameplay elements such as exploring the city that the slime eventually destroys and triggering “Rampage”—a special state activated by continuous destruction.

The game UNIVERSE SLIME, developed by MASH POTATO, will be released as a demo on Steam on Thursday, October 2, 2024. Additionally, the title is scheduled to participate in the upcoming Steam Next Fest (to take place in October).
UNIVERSE SLIME is a destruction action game where players destroy and consume everything to grow their slime. At first, the slime can only swallow small objects, but by destroying cities and buildings and absorbing them, it gradually grows larger—eventually reaching a scale capable of consuming even the Sun.
The demo version includes an opening prologue told from a human perspective just before UNIVERSE SLIME appears on Earth, as well as a destruction demo where entire buildings can be destroyed at once. Experience part of the game’s core gameplay by exploring the city that will eventually fall to the slime and triggering “Rampage”—a special state activated when continuous destruction builds up into a chain reaction leading to a super nova.
