Bungie has released the ultimate raid “Eternity Desert” for the online action RPG Destiny 2 (PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X|S / PS4 / Xbox One) on September 28, 2025.
In the ultimate version of this raid, new rewards and quests have been added, allowing players to obtain a new legendary weapon and upgraded armor style. Additionally, players can acquire the media for the exotic weapon, Strand rocket launcher “Whirling Applause.”
For 48 hours after the raid begins, a competitive mode is active. During this period, the first fireteam to complete the ultimate raid will receive a raid belt and be honored as the world’s first champion.
Players who finish “Eternity Desert” by December 6, 2:00 AM (Japan time) will earn the right to purchase the reward item “Ultimate Raid Ring.” This purchase option remains available until January 7, 2026, at 2:00 AM (Japan time).

The new ultimate raid “Eternity Desert” brings fresh excitement to Destiny 2’s latest raid experience. This ultimate version features new challenges, rewards, and quests that test fireteam coordination. Completing these new challenges unlocks a brand-new legendary weapon and upgraded armor style.
Additionally, completing the ultimate raid’s new quest will unlock the raid vendor’s alignment, granting players access to the media for the exclusive raid-only exotic weapon: Strand rocket launcher “Whirling Applause.”
The competitive mode is active for 48 hours after the raid starts. In this mode, player power is capped and enemies become more aggressive, making completion even harder. The reward list has been updated—players receive level-5 gear upon first completing each encounter, and finishing all encounters grants a limited emblem, along with the raid exotic weapon and its media.
The fireteam that completes the ultimate raid first in competitive mode will be awarded a raid belt and honored as the world’s first champion. Players who complete the ultimate raid “Eternity Desert” by December 6, 2:00 AM (Japan time) will receive a purchase voucher for the Destiny 2 reward item “Eternity Desert Ultimate Raid Ring.” This voucher remains valid until January 7, 2026, at 2:00 AM (Japan time).
Additionally, the deadline to purchase the Bungie rewards for “Eternity Desert” has been extended to December 6, 2:00 AM (Japan time). As a result, players who complete either the standard or ultimate version of the raid by this date can now purchase the Bungie rewards for the raid jacket and sling bag.
