The reason Erika Ishii was cast as the main villain? Report from the special stage revealing the development secrets of "Ghost of Yōtei" [TGS2025]

Sony Interactive Entertainment held a special stage event today (September 27, 2025) at the Tokyo Game Show 2025, taking place at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture, to showcase the PlayStation 5 game “Ghost of Yōtei.”

The stage featured Brian Fleming, co-founder of Sucker Punch Productions, who led development; Erica Ishii, who voices the protagonist Toku; Reiko Sekine, SIE Localization Producer; and Ryuki Ishii, Assistant Producer. Fleming shared insights into what inspired the game’s creation and explained his reasoning for selecting Ishii to voice Toku. He also hinted at future plans to expand the “Ghost” series set in Japan, suggesting a potential sequel.

Additionally, this marked the first public unveiling of gameplay footage from Japan. The video highlighted exciting features such as adventurous exploration across vast open fields, intense one-on-one combat sequences, and bounty hunter missions. The battle scenes featuring Toku fighting multiple opponents simultaneously were particularly impressive.
