GGGP (Gundam Game Grand Prix) is a Gundam-themed gaming event centered around prize-based tournaments, which has been held since 2018. This time, the newly launched game IB, released in July 2025, was adopted as a competitive title, and the tournament event took place in collaboration with Japan’s largest esports festival, “RAGE.”
On Day 2 and Day 3, the venue was BellSoul Akihabara, where a 1/1 scale Gundam head model from Gunpla was exhibited, eco-pla was distributed free of charge, and a live event by LINKL PLANET took place. This report covers the Open Division finals on Day 2 and the Invitation Division on Day 3, both held at BellSoul Akihabara.
The First Major Tournament for “IB”: GGGP×RAGE Open Division
The Open Division, held on November 1 and 2, featured preliminary rounds at four game centers across Japan: namco Matsudo, namco Suginami, GIGO Shinjuku West Exit, and Shinjuku Sports Land Main Hall.
Each venue hosted two separate tournaments per day—morning and afternoon—with 16 teams (four players each) competing in a bracket format. The top-performing teams advanced to the final round on Day 2.
The finals followed a rule where both vanguard and main force squads competed against each other, with the first team to win two matches claiming victory in that match. The team securing two match wins first would be declared the overall winner. After intense battles, four teams advanced to the semifinals:

The semifinal match between True Yagami Family and Nagata Team saw a back-and-forth battle. Although Nagata Team won the first match with consecutive victories, True Yagami Family secured wins in both the vanguard and EX battles to claim their own match win—highlighting an evenly matched contest.
In the decisive third match, Un Gēman’s Gundam [G-Mecha] played a pivotal role, enabling True Yagami Family to reach the final. Trapped by Nagata Team, with only 85 seconds remaining on the clock and both teams still in the air, Rei and SHO∞ managed to secure victory through intense combat, forcing an extra EX battle.
In the final EX match, Rei and SHO∞ took control early by outperforming their opponents in close-range damage exchanges. Before Honteki Kakushi and Un Gēman could fully unleash their abilities, they swiftly eliminated their rivals with a quick knockout—winning 0-lose to advance to the final round.

The second semifinal match, between LifeLi Village and Ao-Chama DaddyDaddy, saw Re_sinon and Chanru shine. They maintained control throughout the first main force battle to win, then triumphed in a perfect mirror-match EX battle to take an early lead.
Although LifeLi Village lost the vanguard battle in Set 2, Re_sinon and Chanru again won both the main force and EX battles consecutively, defeating Ao-Chama DaddyDaddy and advancing toward the final against Nagata Team.

The Open Division final between Nagata Team and LifeLi Village began with Ajima and Mac of LifeLi Village executing a calm, strategic game plan that maximized their time. The main force battle continued the momentum as Re_sinon and Chanru secured another victory, putting them on the brink.
But Nagata Team refused to yield. Kotan G and Leosig won the vanguard battle via time-up, while SHO∞’s Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam delivered an astonishingly resilient performance in the main force battle—reversing a previously dire situation for a dramatic comeback win. The match again went into a third decisive game.
In Game 3’s vanguard battle, Kotan G excelled by neutralizing Ajima’s Keldim Gundam while also providing consistent support to Leosig, securing a solid victory.
Then in the main force battle, LifeLi Village took an early lead—just as before—but Nagata Team turned the tide during a burst activation phase near 50 seconds remaining. They rapidly inflicted heavy damage and reversed the outcome of the match, ultimately winning outright. With all four team members contributing brilliantly, Nagata Team claimed victory.

Invitation Division: Streamers, Trained in Short-Term Intensive Practice, Clash in IB
On November 3, the Invitation Division featured eight streamers from professional esports teams active both domestically and internationally. All had beginner-level experience with the “EXVS.” series and only began playing IB due to this event.
Following the announcement, they trained intensively under guidance from top-tier players—practicing in arcades and using previous home console versions of the game.

The winners of the Winners Bracket were ZETA DIVISION’s duo. Suzuki Noriaki, who accumulated extensive real-game experience at arcades during preparation, consistently maintained solid gameplay using Gundam Aerial [Upgraded] Perm Score 8—controlling match pace throughout. Meanwhile, Kenki steadily improved with each match, delivering significant damage through the main fire and close-combat attacks of Sengoku Astray Gattamou to secure victories. Their outstanding performance earned them a spot in the Grand Final.

In the Losers Bracket, Crazy Raccoon defeated REJECT in the LOSERS OF LOSERS (last-place match), overcoming Zerost’s “very nice machine”—Susano’o—through explosive power. Meanwhile, DetonatioN FocusMe, who lost in the Winners Semi-Finals, faced off against Crazy Raccoon for a chance to advance to the Grand Final.
The match began with Crazy Raccoon aggressively pressing early, but DetonatioN FocusMe responded calmly. Zakurei utilized the Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam’s strengths in mid-to-long range combat to neutralize opponents’ advantages, while Naro maintained steady gameplay avoiding unnecessary damage and provided key support to Zakurei—successfully resisting Crazy Raccoon’s momentum and securing victory. This win earned them a rematch opportunity against ZETA DIVISION.

In the Losers of Losers match—with a penalty game for losing teams—Obou’s Susano’o caused chaos. Zerost, repeatedly pounded in battle, cried out: “Seriously hunted first time,” and “Susano’o is an amazing machine!” Thumbnail image No.016 / Report on the three-day successful event “GGGP×RAGE Mobile Suit Gundam EXVS.2IB Supported by SANKYO” Thumbnail image No.017 / Report on the three-day successful event “GGGP×RAGE Mobile Suit Gundam EXVS.2IB Supported by SANKYO”
Zerost and Yas, finishing last in the Invitation Division, were punished with a costume challenge: they had to play IB while dressed up as cosplayers. In the Invitation Division Grand Final between ZETA DIVISION and DetonatioN FocusMe, Kenki fully awakened—his attack accuracy steadily improved with each match, while defensive performance also grew more consistent. Suzuki Noriaki, who had been consistently active throughout the tournament, adjusted his strategy to support Kenki’s playstyle effectively.
As a result, ZETA DIVISION dominated DetonatioN FocusMe from start to finish, winning six consecutive matches across three sets—securing their title as champions of the Invitation Division.
