Odencat today (November 6, 2025) announced that the PC version of “Megu to Bakemono” will release its DLC titled “Memories of the Monsters” on Steam starting December 4. The price is 800 yen (tax included).

“Megu to Bakemono” is an RPG in which the protagonist, “Roy,” a seemingly invincible monster, must guide a young girl named “Megu”, who has wandered into the Demon World, back to her mother. Roy must protect Megu during battles and comfort her so she doesn’t cry—because if Megu cries, the world ends, resulting in game over. The battle system is tightly integrated with the story; although using a simple command-based format, each combat encounter features unique mechanics.

“Memories of the Monsters” is a collection of five short episodes that explore the past lives of the monsters—stories never told in the main game. The narrative unfolds through simple interactions.

Players who have completed the base game can deepen their understanding and emotional connection by exploring character backstories and world-building details via an in-game tablet. Estimated playtime is around two hours total.

Odencat Co., Ltd. announced today that the DLC “Memories of the Monsters” for “Megu to Bakemono” will be released on Steam on December 4, along with the release of a brand-new key visual and trailer. This additional content was previously included as a bonus in Nintendo Switch physical editions, marking its first digital-only release.

About “Memories of the Monsters”

A collection of five short stories that delve into the past lives of the monsters—narratives not covered in the main game. The story unfolds through simple interactions.

Episode summaries:

A fighter who must continuously compete in a ring to earn money for his sick younger brother. One day, a mysterious woman appears before him and changes his fate.
A young girl eagerly awaiting her 5th birthday—yet something feels off about her parents’ behavior.
Waking up in an unfamiliar, narrow, dark room, he is told: “You were created to kill a certain person.”
A monster forced to live in the Demon World against his will. In this chaotic realm, he strives to establish order.
A young monster raised in a research facility—what becomes of him?

In addition, players can explore character backstories and world-building details through an in-game tablet. Fans who have completed the base game will gain deeper insight into and affection for the story.
