Pokémon will release an update for both “Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A” and the “Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” on November 6, 2025, introducing multiple new features. The main contents of this update are as follows:
EX Side Mission “A Glimmer Like a Gem” Legendary Pokémon: Diancie Mega Evolutions:
- Mega Meganium
- Mega Embloom
- Mega Audino
- Mega Shinydun
The EX Side Mission “A Glimmer Like a Gem” is a new feature available after completing the main story’s ending. Completing it allows players to recruit the legendary Pokémon Diancie, and by equipping her with a Diancite obtained through “Mysterious Deliveries,” she can Mega Evolve into Mega Diancie.
Additionally, the Mega Evolved forms of the three initial partner Pokémon — Mega Meganium, Mega Embloom, and Mega Audino — have been revealed. The Mega Evolved form of Kanari’s partner Pokémon, Mega Shinydun, has also been unveiled. For more details on these new features, refer to the official release statement below.

■1. EX Side Mission “A Glimmer Like a Gem” is Now Available! Obtain Legendary Pokémon Diancie and a Diancite! Starting November 6 (Thursday), players can receive a Diancite through the “Mysterious Deliveries” feature in Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A and gain access to play the EX Side Mission “A Glimmer Like a Gem.”
Upon completing this mission, you can recruit the legendary Pokémon Diancie. Equipping her with the Diancite obtained from “Mysterious Deliveries” allows her to Mega Evolve into Mega Diancie.
Note: To play the EX Side Mission “A Glimmer Like a Gem,” you must have completed the ending of Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A.

② Head to Humble House After obtaining your Diancite, visit Humble House. When you speak with Nyspar, the partner Pokémon of Matielle, he appears intrigued by the Diancite.

Note: The EX Side Mission “A Glimmer Like a Gem” is available in both the base and Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A.
You must have an internet connection via Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2.
To connect to the internet, your system’s user account must be linked with a Nintendo Account (no need for “Nintendo Switch Online” membership).
It takes approximately one hour of gameplay before you can use “Mysterious Deliveries.”
The Diancite is available in both physical and digital versions.

Due to Mega Evolution, rapid growth occurs—its body becomes larger and its neck flower expands from four petals. Its developed antennae detect changes in weather and help it locate optimal spots for photosynthesis.
The massive solar energy stored in its four flowers is released as a Solar Beam, also known as the “Mega Solar Cannon.”
・ Fairy Type Added! Fragrance Components Amplified from Petals! Mega Meganium becomes Grass/Fairy type after Mega Evolution. The expanded flower with four petals accumulates abundant solar energy and produces special aromatic compounds. These have a calming effect in moderate amounts, but overexposure can cause excitement.
・ Body Size Increases – Fighting Style Becomes Bolder Due to the immense stored solar energy from its four flowers, it can now immediately unleash Solar Beam attacks. Additionally, using its massive frame effectively, it engages in close combat with great power and flattens opponents who are hard to hit with Solar Beams. The bold new fighting style may sometimes appear careless.

Mega Evolution enhances its muscles and increases body size by about one-third. Its fiery beard burns hotter and brighter, forming a protective shell around the upper body.
Its ability to manipulate fire is greatly enhanced. It releases fiery energy from its palms, shaping it into a serpent-like flame projectile for battle.
・ Fearless and Impulsive – Charges In to Rescue Companions in Danger Known for being bold and reckless, Embloom is easily angered and acts impulsively. After Mega Evolution, it remains constantly energized and aggressively attacks any enemy immediately upon battle start. It tends to focus on individual action and may overextend—thus requiring skilled trainers to guide it effectively. However, its loyalty toward companions remains unchanged: it always rushes to their aid in perilous situations and fights fiercely with all its might.
・ Massive Increase in Strength and Fire Energy Its punch, powered by reinforced muscles, can lightly strike a steel-reinforced concrete building and destroy half of it. Its fire energy has also greatly increased—its beard flames burn intensely when excited, making it impossible to approach closely during peak excitement. The tip of the flame spear formed from its palm energy reaches up to 10,000 degrees at maximum tension.

Mega Evolution causes its dorsal fin to grow dramatically. Using this enlarged fin and enhanced arm strength, its biting power increases by over tenfold compared to the original Audino.
Even objects too large for Audino to bite can now be crushed using its enlarged dorsal fin and powerful arms.
・ Dragon Type Added! Enhanced Combat Power via Enlarged Dorsal Fin Mega Audino becomes Water/Dragon type after Mega Evolution. The dramatic enlargement of the dorsal fin greatly increases biting power, but additional functions are believed to exist. One is enhanced defense: the large, hard fin covers its head, reducing physical damage. Another is improved heat dissipation—using the dorsal fin, it cools down its body temperature, which rises sharply after Mega Evolution.
・ Why Does Mega Audino’s Dorsal Fin Resemble a “Wani Noko”? The exact reason why the giant dorsal fin resembles the head of Wani Noko remains unknown. One theory suggests that because the shape of Wani Noko’s head is ideal for biting, this trait was revived through Mega Evolution as the “Wani Noko Mask,” though its truthfulness is uncertain.

Mega Evolution greatly enhances its yellow electrical organs on the body and arms. It now produces electrified mucus, which flows from both arm tips, forming a shape resembling Shinydun.
Thanks to its electrified power, it can now hover mid-air even on land.
・ “Fake Shinydun” Made from Electrified Mucus The enhanced electrical organs produce a special mucus that becomes electrically charged. This fluid flows from the arms and body, transforming into a jelly- or gummy-like consistency. The mucus formed along both arms is referred to by scholars as “Ubi-Biiru” (right arm) and “Sabi-Biiru” (left arm), collectively known as “Fake Shinydun.” This provides greater stability during swimming, increasing speed to nearly double that of its pre-Mega form.
・ Powerful Electricity Strong Enough to Paralyze Even Massive Pokémon Most of Mega Shinydun’s generated electricity is sent into the two Fake Shinyduns on each arm. The power is so strong it can paralyze even massive Pokémon like Ho-Oh, rendering them immobile. Once the Mega Evolution ends, the mucus dissolves and disappears. However, if kept below 0°C, it remains jelly-like and may be reused for beauty or muscle training—though its actual effectiveness remains uncertain.
