Toho has today (November 7, 2025) announced the start of pre-registration for its smartphone and PC game “Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin – The Tale of Hinkaka,” developed by G2 Studios, produced and published by Toho Games, with original concept and production by Ederu Wais.
This game is the latest installment in the acclaimed Japanese-style action RPG “Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin,” known for its deep rice cultivation simulation. In this new chapter, Sakunahime and her companions are tasked with investigating a suddenly appearing “mysterious archipelago.” There, they meet Hinkakahime—her father’s missing daughter, searching through hazy memories. Players will grow rice together with these new allies while uncovering the secrets of the enigmatic island.
Pre-registration is now available on App Store and Google Play. A Steam store page for the game will also be launched in the near future.
Additionally, the first official livestream titled “Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin – The Tale of Hinkaka First Official Livestream” will take place starting at 8:00 PM today.
Other promotional campaigns are also underway: a “follow and repost” contest offering 30 lucky winners the chance to win ten nationwide rice vouchers (worth ¥4,400 total), as well as a reward campaign where players receive in-game items based on pre-registration numbers.

Pre-registration for “Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin – The Tale of Hinkaka” has begun!

This unique Japanese-style action RPG, whose slogan is “Rice is power!” combines exhilarating combo combat with deeply authentic simulations of traditional Japanese rice farming. The game gained widespread attention for its meticulous depiction of realistic rice cultivation. In July 2024, the TV anime adaptation “Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin” aired on Tokyo MX and other networks, drawing praise for its detailed portrayal of agricultural scenes. It continues to be widely available across various streaming platforms. Furthermore, a sequel to the anime has also been officially confirmed.
Now, Toho Games—the gaming label under Toho Co., Ltd.—is pleased to announce that pre-registration has begun for “Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin – The Tale of Hinkaka,” developed and operated by G2 Studios Inc., with concept and production by Ederu Wais.
